When to test

We are trying for #2, came off the pill mid-October and had first period starting 11 November. We DTD lots during November and I tried to track ovulation using ovulation strips. We were trying SMEP.

As I've only had one period since coming off the pill and no period whilst on in, on it from around April 2023, I'm unsure of my cycle length. Apps says AF due today. Had excess saliva and nausea as in pregnancy 1 but then again I though I had those symptoms before AF in November.

Wanting to test as pretty convinced it will be positive but also don't want to get a false positive.

Any thoughts/advice?

Obviously can take a while to regulate after coming off contraception. But assuming in an absolutely perfect scenario you got your period 11th November, ovulate day 14 = 24th November, and TWW brings you to today. Now as I said that's the clockwork perfect scenario that most likely isn't the case when you've only come off the pill. But technically possible to test today.

Most people say wait till you think you've missed a period but impossible to know how long to expect your cycles to be. In regards to your fear of a false positive - they're really rare once you follow the instructions properly. Go for it, you just might have to keep testing if negative because there's really no way of knowing what's going on this cycle. Best of luck OP!

@remaininghopeful23 thank you! Based on ovulation tests, I think ovulation was around 24/25 November.

With my first, I tested on CD 35 but was very definitely late at that point.

I feel very tired, (sore throat) not saying sore throat is a symptom but I'm in bed early which is rare for me!

I remember having the weirdest dreams before testing! I think your mind is consumed with the thoughts of it your subconscious gets involved😂 I get that not wanting to be let down. Chemical is possible until 5 weeks so you could always wait 1 more week and be out of that bracket. Let us know how you get on! (if you feel comfortable to).
