Hey everyone, so I tested this morning 10dpo and BFN. My AF isn't due until Tuesday so I know it's possibly too early but I have a works do tonight. My question is, would you have a drink tonight? I don't plan to be getting blackout drunk, but just wondered what everyone's opinions would be? I have read that even if I am pregnant, the baby doesn't take nutrients from me until 5 weeks so won't do any harm, but I'm still apprehensive πŸ˜₯
Pretty sure I'm not pregnant tbh, but we always hold onto that small thread of hope don't we!

Drink until pink is what I say! (Drink until positive) my first pregnancy wasn't planned so I didn't have a clue, I was drinking from 1dpo till I found out (was going through a stressful time😭) found out at 10/11dpo and instantly stopped of course. But she's now 2.5 years and I had a very good healthy pregnancy. It's completely up to you at the end of the day and what you feel comfortable with, but personally I'm not going to be turning down drinks until I test positive, just because it'll all become too pressured and stressful for me to start acting completely different x

Hi ladies just an update, currently 8dpo now, I have been bloated since 4-5dpo and it’s really uncomfortable, had on and off twinges almost like very dull af pains since 5dpo too. Holding off of testing until Xmas eve (Tuesday) that way I’ll know whether I can have a drink or 2 over Xmas πŸ˜‚ @lynzmb how are you holding up? πŸ™‚

LuxyLocket · 22/12/2024 08:58

Hi girls, just wanted to update you, AF finally arrived 3 days late, after days of light spotting that I wasn’t sure if it was an implantation bleed, but negative tests. I’m glad it’s here now as the not knowing was driving me mad. Then means we can move ahead with our fertility appointment on Xmas Eve as planned.
just wanted to wish everyone a merry Xmas and sending love and luck for their journeys. ✨✨I’m going to clock out for a bit and enjoy Xmas with DH.
but I’m sure I’ll be back in the new year as our journey continues hopefully with some fertility help this time and I really hope that 2025 finally brings us our longed for baby. Much love, and light to all x

That's sounding positive - everything crossed for Tuesday for you. I'm good thanks lovely, absolutely no sniff of a symptom but I've been busy with Christmas stuff so maybe just not noticed. 7dpo today.

@Ncl31 I definitely caught my peak lol. I've had the worst ovulation pain this evening I had to take some paracetamol so thought I'd test before bed 🀞🏼

Hi,
CD16 and testing at 0.5, I usually ovulate CD16-18.
Did you test with FMU? I always wait until around 11:30 but don’t want to miss the peak. I’m using the same strips as you.

well done for catch it, I don’t usually test twice a day but I am doing this cycle. Really want to catch that egg lol.

Butterflygirl23 · 22/12/2024 13:04

@EEB1989 hi. I usually test morning afternoon and evening which I'm glad I did because I wouldn't of known I caught my peak, no I don't use my FMU because apparently you shouldn't. I've never really used opk I've only used them this time to see if i ovulated after my miscarriage last month that's all.

When I tasted Tuesday my lines were so faint but I had so much EWCM. I think i usually ovulate around day 14 before my miscarriage

Hope you get your peak soon x

Kateplus4 · 22/12/2024 17:59

@lynzmb i stupidly gave in and did a test after holding urine for 9 hours!! 🀣 bfn obviously, af not due for another 8 days yet though since taking the test I’ve have aches in my arms and my boobs are feeling a bit heavy and sore to touch. I definitely won’t test again now until Tuesday! 😣 also I never had symptoms with my other pregnancies apart from one I had a bit of spotting otherwise nothing! So maybe no symptoms is a good sign!? X

Emiily887 · 22/12/2024 22:03

Evening ladies, I am so sorry to hear af has arrived for some.
@LuxyLocket i hope your fertility appointment goes well lovely 🩷
I am 7dpo today (I think, I haven’t been testing or tracking bbt this cycle) and just trying to relax with it being Christmas.
How are all you ladies feeling? X

Oh what an amazing Christmas gift!
congratulations. I got my peak OPK yesterday, hoping our Christmas miracle is just 2 weeks away

nicolenorris · 26/12/2024 13:01

@Ncl31 thank you! I found out at 9dpo the day before Xmas Eve. I'm 12dpo now. Good luck to you ✨🀞🏼

KittyFantastica · 26/12/2024 13:10

Congrats @nicolenorris what a lovely Christmas present.

I'd hoped to be entering my fertile week by yesterday, and so far not even a sniff that I'm anywhere close to ovulating. I've had the lowest OPK reading I've ever seen today, and no bodily signs. Last cycle, I ovulated around CD11/12 and the one previously was CD16/17. I'd hoped I'd ovulate on the earlier side again, as my husband leaves until the 30th tomorrow. I just know I'll get my peak while he's on his way back or something. We really wanted to have a few tries at before ovulation this time as we only DTD on peak day last month as we were unwell and no luck.

I've had dreams all night for the last two nights about OPKs, pregnancy tests and looking for lines. It's been a terrible Christmas anyway, but it really puts the cherry on top. We've never stressed about conceiving before as we conceived easily and it was always (though they ended in losses) previously. Now, I have this huge anxiety that it won't happen again, not helped by my husband being away at the crucial time. Worrying about it won't do any good, so I'm just going to eat another mince pie and be sad for a bit.

Massive Congratulations @nicolenorris ✨

Currently 9DPO but had a bfn this morning. Going to keep my fingers crossed for the next couple of days 🀞🏻 I did see with my previous pregnancies i didn't get a bfp until after AF would have arrived ☺️

I’m sorry you’re feeling so down about it.
I totally understand the anxiety when your other half is away. I had that last cycle.
thankfully this cycle he was home and totally relaxed. I often have to actively encourage and sometimes just say we have to, just to get it done at the right time. But this week I think with it being Christmas and also just after him being away for 3 weeks we’ve hit 3 days leading up to ovulation, peak day and ovulation day so hopefully that’ll by enough swimmers to find the egg and do their job.

I hope your ovulation waits until your hubby is home.

KittyFantastica · 27/12/2024 17:21

Thanks @Ncl31 In typical form, I got a sign this morning so did a digital OPK out of curiosity and got a flashing smiley. We managed a quickie before my husband left, but he won't be back until the weekend, so I think we'll miss our peak.

We've DTD 3 times this week just for solace in each other at a difficult time, so it will have to be enough.

Happibara · 27/12/2024 18:02

Hello Ladies, how are you now that Christmas is behind us?

@nicolenorris Congratulations! That's wonderful news, hoping for a joyful easy pregnancy for you!

@KittyFantastica that's stressful, but you never know, it may be one of these "4 flashing smiley days before peak" cycles! Fingers crossed it's a slow surge🀞

@Emiily887 have you tested since posting last time? Sending you baby dust!

I managed to avoid testing until 13 DPO which was Christmas Eve, it was a BFN and AF arrived on Boxing day.

So I've called the IVF clinic to update them, expect to start the medication in 3 weeks time, with the egg retrieval penciled in for first half of February.

Until then we're officially instructed to not TTC naturally, it will feel odd to have all this time when I only have to be mindful to take the pills and shots on the specified days πŸ˜…

I'm really sad it didn't work out this month, I feel we had a really good chance and naturally I'm apprehensive about the IVF, but we're going ahead so I'm trying for a positive mindset!

Best of luck to all of you!

KittyFantastica · 27/12/2024 18:22

My surge is always super fast - as in like half an hour - so the longest I've ever had a flashing smiley is one day @Happibara In fact, this is only the second time ever I've seen a flashing smiley. I usually go from zero to peak immediately. If I use strips, you can see the rise and fall from zero to peak and back down to zero in 40 minutes. It makes it like finding a needle in a haystack!

I'm sorry this month didn't work out for you. I hope your IVF journey I goes smoothly and is fruitful. I can only imagine how intimidating the next few months probably look, but we will be here for hand holding ❀️ Do you have plans for nice things to look forward to in the meantime?

nicolenorris · 27/12/2024 19:07

Does my line progression look ok/like anyone else's? I'm worried I'm not seeing it darken that much?

December πŸ€žπŸΌπŸŽ…πŸΌ
Happibara · 27/12/2024 19:17

@KittyFantastica Oh, this must make for a very intensive opk testing day or two! how often do you check, every time you go to the bathroom? or do you just rely on temps or tests to confirm ovulation had taken place?

Regardless, I think if for you the surge is so rapid, then you gave it your best shot by DTD before your husband had to leave. The day before ovulation has the highest probability of success - I hope it is the case for you this cycle!

Thank you for support ❀️ We have no particular plans this month, but I'm preparing to take it easy after I start on the medication, in case it makes me feel rough πŸ˜… In the past I dealt well with hormones and various treatments so I hope that won't actually be needed.

KittyFantastica · 27/12/2024 22:05

Do you know when you ovulated @nicolenorris? And do you drink lots before bed? I always got better results with SMU as my FMU was never concentrated enough.

@Happibara It's surprisingly straightforward actually, I always ovulate between 10:00 - 11:30! It's bizarre, but every month I've ever tracked (so only 3/4 to be fair). I do two tests, one around 10am and then depending on how dark it is, another in a half an hour. That one is usually my peak, but if there's not a significant rise then I do one more after another half an hour and that's usually it. If I'm using the digitals, they have always coincided with a solid smiley when the strips show a peak. I don't often get the flashing smileys, so it means it's a bit of a shot in the dark when it comes to timing. I usually only get the peak day's notice, so it would actually be nice to have a few days of flashing smileys so build up a better chance, as it were.

I think keeping busy and being good to yourself are the best things we can do, no matter what our positions. Treating yourself with kindness is a must. I'll keep everything crossed for you

Yeah I used OPKs and I also had symptoms which confirmed so I'm defiantly 13dpo today. Do they look really light to you? Most of these are with smu

ManifestingBaby2023 · 28/12/2024 10:21

@nicolenorris I think they look really good, definitely a positive! I would say, if you are anxious about it, test for a few days at a similar time and compare. I did this with my rainbow baby and it took about 2 weeks for the test line to become darker than the control, i did find out quite early, like you. Remember HCG is different for everyone, and you could just naturally have a lower amount, which is completely fine, its all on a scale! ❀️
