Hey ladies,

Anyone not seen their peak on OPKs but are seeing/feeling the other signs of ovulation? Semi freaking out but know I have/can ovulate as have had previous pregnancies.

This is me currently. I'm on CD17 but been having lots of EWCM since Sunday, lots yesterday but my tests aren't turning positive and I had cramps and twinges yesterday so it's so confusing

Yep, happened with my very first pregnancy. I had no idea I had a very short, fast surge and missed it despite having all the signs. I was shocked to see the positive. Ended in a chemical, sadly, but never picked it up on either strips or digital OPKs as I wasn't testing at the right time for my body.

nicolenorris · 17/12/2024 13:58

@missrose13 I loved that I managed to catch my peak I was so worried I wouldn't be able to, and catching it was so so interesting to me πŸ˜‚ thank you! You too ✨🀞🏼

Mals2022 · 17/12/2024 18:40

Hello, just joining in! Anyone else in the TWW? No idea how many DPO I am cause we didn't track this cycle but I'm currently CD23. AF due Monday according to Flo but I'm in the middle of night shifts then so will test on xmas eve if AF hasn't arrived.

Firsttime2023 · 17/12/2024 20:23

@Mals2022 hey I'm in the tww 7dpo. AF is due on Tuesday so praying I might have a Xmas BFP 🀞🏼 nothing out of the ordinary yet though! Think I might test at 10dpo...

Oh great, really hoping this month is the one cause the thought of AF coming on christmas eve is really depressingπŸ™ˆ i've just been to B&M and got the cheapie tests so I might try one of those in the next few days and keep my FRER until AF is actually late

Butterflygirl23 · 18/12/2024 07:27

Would this be a positive this morning? I've got ovulation cramps this morning

@Mals2022 I know it would be so depressing wouldn't it, even more than normal.
I feel absolutely nothing today, no symptoms at all.
Good idea doing the cheapy tests, I only use the easy @ home ones.

Test again this afternoon, you should see it drop. It certainly looks positive though. Fingers crossed for you.

Hey everyone I hope you don’t mind me joining this thread πŸ™‚ I’m currently 4dpo on my 4th cycle ttc, was looking for some tww buddies 😁 xx

Kateplus4 · 18/12/2024 15:15

I thought I’d update with some symptoms I’m having, yesterday I had a huge increase of CM and today I am having slight pains that feel like dull period pains. Trying not to symptom spot but it’s hard πŸ˜‚

Hey πŸ‘‹πŸ» I'm a day behind you and also trying not to symptom spot. I was writing everything little feeling in my notes app last month πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ so trying not to get my hopes up!

KittyFantastica · 18/12/2024 16:51

My spotting last night turned into AF by bedtime, so I'm CD2 today. I ovulated CD12 and had a 24 day cycle last time and ovulated CD16 and had a 30 day cycle the cycle before that, so no idea when it will occur this time. My partner is going home to family between Christmas and new year and all my apps say that's when my peak will be, so hopefully we'll still manage.

LuxyLocket · 18/12/2024 20:14

@KittyFantastica aww lovely I’m sorry AF came, big hugs. πŸ’•it’s tough. Well done for trying to stay optimistic and looking ahead to this new cycle. Hopefully you will manage as you say and will you track with opk?

I’m cd28 today so AF will either be coming tomorrow or not. I’ve not tested at all. Can’t believe my endurance, it’s been hard, but the plus is I haven’t got hopes up. I’m telling myself AF will be coming tomorrow as a self protection thing.
how’s everyone else doing? Welcome to all the new ladies all well I’ve been following along and reading everyones updates 🩷

I’m sorry that AF arrived. It’s difficult with timings when our OH are away. We only just caught ovulation last cycle before DH went away with work. Our so I thought, evidently I’m CD 5 today so we didn’t catch it enough.
he’s home on Friday for a few months so we shouldn’t struggle to time DTD, my app says my fertile windows begins on 25/12… so here’s hoping a few drinks and lots of relaxing time at home will help.

Butterflygirl23 · 18/12/2024 22:41

@Ncl31 I definitely caught my peak lol. I've had the worst ovulation pain this evening I had to take some paracetamol so thought I'd test before bed 🀞🏼

KittyFantastica · 19/12/2024 00:00

Thank you @LuxyLocket and @Ncl31 I'm okay with AF turning up. I didn't track last month, though I'm certain I ovulated day 11/12 as I had terrible ovulation pain and smart watch confirmed temp rise. We were still not 100% certain whether we wanted to try again just yet, but the day before I'd had that temp rise, we'd also DTD already, so knew it was a possibility.

It would have been nice to have a positive, especially on holiday, but I knew before I tested that I wasn't pregnant. All three pregnancies, I had weird feelings before I tested. I wouldn't say they were symptoms, but I felt off. This time I felt so normal.

I might use OPKs this time @LuxyLocket, though I still don't want to focus on it too much. We've agreed no stress and just fun, at least until the new year. I wear a smart watch, which auto saves my BBT when my alarm goes off every morning, so that's how I know when I ovulated last month. I'll keep an eye on that. I can't believe your resolve, you're so strong not to test! How are you feeling?

@Ncl31 Is your partner away often? It gets difficult not to worry about missed opportunities, doesn't it? I should ovulate around 2-3 days behind you by the looks of it.

LuxyLocket · 19/12/2024 06:05

@KittyFantastica thank you I’m feeling ok at the moment, it’s up and down, but trying to protect my feelings as we are trying for our first and did get pregnant in the summer but sadly that ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks, and we’ve had a chemical this autumn as well. The journey is tough so I think the not testing was something I made myself do so that I didn’t get hopes up. If we are not pregnant this December then I hope that 2025 brings us good things and will be the year that we finally become parents πŸ™πŸ©·

If you’re trying not to focus on it then I wouldn’t do OPKs, I have to do them for my drugs I’m taking from the fertility centre. But I’d much rather not. I think it adds pressure. At least just confirmed with BBT you know it’s done.

he’s not away all that often typically, but the company he works for have just got a big government contract in lots of their buildings, it all has to be done out of hours so the overtime pay is really good for night shift which is why he has volunteered for it. I try not to worry about it if we miss a month but I am conscious that we only have 6 months of the letrozole so don’t want that opportunity to go to waste. He should be home for the next 3 months which is the time we have left. All being well I’ll ovulate whilst we’re on holiday in February too.

Firsttime2023 · 20/12/2024 12:36

Hey everyone, so I tested this morning 10dpo and BFN. My AF isn't due until Tuesday so I know it's possibly too early but I have a works do tonight. My question is, would you have a drink tonight? I don't plan to be getting blackout drunk, but just wondered what everyone's opinions would be? I have read that even if I am pregnant, the baby doesn't take nutrients from me until 5 weeks so won't do any harm, but I'm still apprehensive πŸ˜₯
Pretty sure I'm not pregnant tbh, but we always hold onto that small thread of hope don't we!

Hfair1 · 20/12/2024 13:18

I’m 7 dpo today and felt some strong twingy cramping on my right side. I also smelt some sushi today that smelt absolutely awful, and have had a bit more CM than usual the last few days (I think). I’ve also had very low level sort of cramps on and off since ovulation but I don’t even know if they’d count as cramps or just ever so slight weird feelings.

I know it’s too early but did a test anyway and of course it’s negative but you never know! I’m on letrezole to induce ovulation as I have PCOS and don’t ovulate naturally, but the strips made me 90% sure I ovulated on the 12th/13th of December, around CD14/15.

I also had foot cramps tonight and have been extra moody. Never know! Watch this space πŸ‘€

Personally I had a work thing when I was 4dpo and I decided not to drink. I had pre ordered an alcoholic drink and then had to change it at the table which was quite awkward so I wouldn't be surprised if anyone had suspicions... I was planning to say something about antibiotics but then it just didn't come out and then it felt too late!

Obviously that's slightly different to your situation in that I couldn't have tested then (and as it turns out I did actually get a positive test at 13dpo today!). Maybe think about how you would feel if:

  • you drank and continued to test negative
  • you drank and then had a chemical pregnancy or miscarriage
  • you didn't drink and continued to test negative
  • you didn't drink and tested positive

Probably some more combos too! Then work out what feeling you most want to avoid out of those. There's also a sliding scale of amounts like you say, so I might have considered having a few sips if I thought I almost certainly wasn't pregnant. I do think that 10dpo is on the early side though.

Personally, I would be inclined to have a drink but not be excessive.
i hope have a lovely night no matter what you decide
