bought preg tests off ebay - the ones they use at docs, super early apparently

how early is super early, they say can detect pregs as close as 1 day after conception (10mg of preg hormone or summut?).

DH and I have only just started TTC, but we been at it like rabbits and DH is convinced I am (AF not due til sunday), but these super early tests say not....could they be wrong/dud? should i wait til AF is late (IF late) and get a proper branded test?

They are very sensitive then - the docs ones are normally either 15mg or 30 depending on the type.

Actually it doesn't really matter, the hormones double every 48 hours so if you tested say on Friday you'd probably get a fairly accurate result.

Branded tests are a big con if you ask me. I've always used the cheapest ones and they've never steered me wrong (also you don't feel so cheated if you get four BFN before you BFP!

As the chemist down my road told me while steering me towards the cheap tests, they are all the same (roughly). Do try to wait until you are late though, it won't change the result to wait and it is pointless using up all your tests before you are even due on

Do you have several? They are early pregnancy tests and may well get an earlier result - I got a result at 13 days post ovulation (but I think that's fairly unusual. But 48 hours before you are due should still get a result. Providing if it is negative you wait another 48 hours before retesting (your hormone levels won't have changed enough before then to warrant another test.)

I got a postive on one (several) of those ebay tests, 9 DPO.

i bought a pack of ten, used 2 (only cost 49p). I will wait til Monday to test again, providing AF doesn't arrive in meantime....I now have my ovulation calendar, so even if neg this month, I know when to jump DH next time!

1 day after conception is impossible, since you are not producing HcG until implantation (this usually happens 7-10 days after conception but can be sooner, hence +ve at 9dpo).

'Early testing' is only really a few days before period is due. It is not reliable though, and many people get false negatives as they have yet to produce enough HcG to detect. You will find threads with stats on this.

We all know you should wait til the day period is due, but it is up to you...I would say anything before 10dpo is a complete waste of tests!! I got my +ve at 12dpo, 2 days before period due.
