Cyclogest

Hi. I was referred to the fertility clinic for reoccurant miscarriages a while back. The consultant couldn't find anything wrong after doing various tests so has asked me to use the Cyclogest pessaries twice a day from day 21 to 28 in my cycle for 3 months.
So last month was the first time I used it and then I stopped on day 28 as I was not pregnant.

This month I am due to use it from tomorrow but the last 2 days I have had severe nausea. Also quite bad boob pains for last few days. Is it normal for Cyclogest to cause these effects after a month? I read that many women experience similar symptoms to pregnancy when using Cyclogest. I don't know if this is normal?

sorry i can’t help you with the specific q you have but I am on my first month of taking it after ovulation and I’ve had cramps and feeling sleepy both of which i know are side affects to the cyclogest. I have read that boobs hurting is also a side affect but not sure if they can happen before taking it.

Thanks for replying...yeah I'm not sure if what I'm feeling is normal. I would have assumed the Cyclogest would have long been out of my system...
What days in your cycle are you taking it?

I am on my first round of letrozole ss i hsve pcos. So after my trigger shot i was told to take it from Cycle day 16 until I get a positive/negative. I also have to wait until 14DPO to test as the trigger shot stays in your system until then.
have you taken a pregnancy test if you are at that time in your cycle? Wishing for the best!!

It's too early for me to test now but I should be able to by the end of next week. I'm hoping something is going on as it feels like it.

Good luck to you-I can’t remember if I had your symptoms on the cyclogest but just came on to say I conceived and went full term after following the same process as you with the cyclogest after 4 miscarriages. It really can help-fingers crossed for you on your journey xx now have a 2 year old xx

Did a test today 10DPO and finally got a second line. Still feeling really sick & tired.
Just praying this progresses with no problems...

Did another test yesterday morning which had a fainter second line. The tests I did after this keep showing negative. Did one this morning & it's negative....cannot believe that I'm losing it again..been feeling so unwell since yesterday as well.

@Rose38 im so sorry to hear that! I completely feel you my tests are so light not darkened at all. My CB is negative on dpo 13.

@Mary182 Are you taking the Cyclogest from day 21 to 28 in your cycle? I read some people are taking it from straight after ovulation...I feel like I should try that the next cycle and also ask for low dose aspirin in case that helps?

Yes my doctor told me to take it 36 hours after ovulation and if i am pregnant to carry it on. If not stop it a few days after my period would be due

Did you experience really bad headaches? I seem to be having really severe headaches since the first positive test to now.

No no headaches, i have had bad cramping today but its more like i feel like my period is going to start - that type of heavy feeling. And on one day i had food aversions. Symptoms are different to my first pregnancy which is whats also making me second guess everything 🙃

I haven't had any bleeding yet..was just waiting for it to start. But tests are still negative.

I have emailed the clinic to ask if they can prescribe me low dose aspirin to try the next cycle since the Cyclogest on its own did not work.

I wonder if anyone had similar issues on Cyclogest but then went on to have a successful cycle later on...
