Ivf with pgt or letrozole

I got pregnant in August and miscarried & 6.5weeks. TTC Sept, Oct & Nov with no luck. Had my progesterone checked and I am ovulating. Or at least I did last cycle. I have a short luteal phase. Sometimes less than 10 days so harder to conceive. Was prescribed letrozole. Havnt taken it yet. I'm 38.5yrs old. I'm sort of still worried about the cause of the miscarriage and very scared it would happen again so I have a choice to make ..... try again with letrozole. or skip this cycle. And go to fertility clinic on Jan 6th and get ball rolling on ivf with pgt.... which reduces miscarriage risk. Tbh the money doesn't bother me I'd do anything to not have another miscarriage. It's just hard to put ttc on hold, best case scenario would be I'd start ivf in Feb I guess.

Hi, OP - I'm sorry you've had such a rough time of things. How long were you TTC prior to falling pregnant? Have you had other miscarriages prior to August? I ask because heading to IVF seems premature on the face of things if you have conceived fairly quickly and have no specific factors that indicate that recurrent miscarriages are likely. Whilst PGT testing reduces the chances of miscarrying, it doesn't eliminate it entirely (I believe it roughly halves the chances at our age), so I worry it wouldn't be the panacea you're hoping for.

Yeh see I guess another thought I'm having is.... what if I want a 3rd baby....I feel the ivf will (possibly) give me that option.... in that I could have an extra frozen embryo left - so essentially extending my fertility. Rather than getting pregnant now, giving birth at 39 and then starting ttc at 40+

I got pregnant first cycle in August. The ivf is definitely premature/maybe isn't needed but I think it is coming down to the idea of what ifs.... what if I miscarry, what if I want a 3rd. It's a tricky one. And I know no one can really answer but me hmmmm

Hi,
so sorry to hear you’ve had a hard time!
wanted to suggest maybe trying progesterone pessaries after ovulation. Not sure if they work 100% but i have heard they are good for people with short luteal phase.
I am on my first round of letrozole as I have pcos and don’t ovulate - i was told my progesterone is low too during the last two weeks so I am currently on cyclogest and in my TWW.
really hope you get your positive soon!!
