TTC Success Stories please!?

Hi all. This is my first time posting here so apologies if this isn’t an appropriate thread for this topic. But a lot of the ‘ttc’ threads won’t allow posts about success pregnancies and that’s exactly what I’m after!

Basically, I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in June after trying for 4 cycles. I was under the naive impression I would conceive again quicker the second time around, however I have just found out that our 6th ‘try’ post miscarriage was also unsuccessful. Has anyone else been in a similar boat before but gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

I actually don’t feel too down today, mostly frustrated. I’ve had two people in life announce pregnancies this last month and I desperately want it to be my turn soon. I’m mostly just looking for solidarity and encouragement, but any ‘tips’ would also be welcome. Currently I am:

-not seriously ovulation tracking, I did for the first 3 tries before the miscarriage and I found it super stressful. I’m pretty regular and we dtd about every other day to I don’t feel I need to.

-taking folate and vitamin D (all year) plus 600mg of ubiquinol (since August) and 440mg dha (only this last month). Partner is also taking ubiquinol and dha for the same amount of time I have been. I also drink red raspberry leaf tea for the first half of my cycle.

-following a mostly Mediterranean diet, I’ve cut back on drinking but still have a few on Friday nights. I also gave up vaping 2 months ago. Partner probably drinks a bit more than me.

No idea if any of the above will actually have any relevance, as it’s been 6 months with no BFPs. But I’m trying to focus on being healthier as it’ll be good for me regardless. We’ve both had some initial testing done and everything has came back perfect so far, so it’s very disappointing to not have success yet.

I’m trying to be more positive this month, as I have been very stressed since the miscarriage, however I’m still going slightly mad and have booked in for acupuncture in the New Year and I’m now considering this conception cup thing I saw online … no idea of either of those will actually help though?!

Any words of wisdom from someone who has been in a similar boat will be much appreciated 🙏 (p.s if you’ve been lucky enough to conceive quickly I’m genuinely happy for you! But I do find those stories hard to hear at the moment) thank you 💕

hey! I know the pregnancy announcement feeling all too well!

we had a sixteen week loss in May (conceived first try bizarrely??) but it had chromosomal abnormalities. I tried again instantly. We got pregnant on our fourth month and I chuckled at your post because you did EVERYTHING I was doing!

i thought I’d add the things I did too for you:

so I also did coq10, expensive prenatals with folate not folic acid, med diet and no drinking and I don’t smoke anyway.

I did test ovulation meticulously and my bbt. BBT was mostly for peace of mind so I was sure I was actually ovulating.

I also did seed cycling for six weeks and confidence on that sixth week of doing it. (Google it, a simple method of eating certain seeds In your cycle) I didn’t like this or enjoy it and was actually giving up after the sixth week, hence why I didn’t complete the second month.

I did acupuncture the month I concieved! Once before ovulation and once after! I do truly believe that’s what did it for me.

we also used conceive plus that month for the first month.

we also had sex for longer after my peak, as in, we wouldn’t have sex ovulation day and stop, we had it for two or three days after. And that cycle according to bbt I got my peak Thursday early morning but didn’t ovulate until Saturday.

Hope it works for you!!

Not much to add as I'm currently on my TWW, but i thought rasberry leaf tea was on the 'avoid' list? Sprinkling baby dust your way!!! Fingers crossed for you!

I’ve heard it’s a definite avoid ovulation, but I have heard it might be good before for ‘toning the uterus’ whatever that means 😅 best of luck to you 💕

Thanks for your response! I’ve never tried BBT, the OPKs stressed me out enough so I don’t know how well I’d be able to handle that 😂 but good point and trying for longer even after ovulation. Like I said we’re usually every other day, but it can slow down after ovulation as I’m usually not in the mood so much haha. Will look into seed cycling and fingers crossed acupuncture will work for me too!
So sorry to hear about your first loss, but congratulations on your pregnancy 💕

I had been TTC since January, I had a miscarriage in June and like you was super keen to be pregnant again and hopeful that we'd be more fertile but it's taken until this cycle (I'm only just 4 weeks) to concieve again so I totally understand where you're coming from.

I used the clear blue digital advanced ovulation tests - just because I found them way easier and they're testing for estrogen as well as Lh rise. I usually ovulate day 14 but oddly this cycle it seems to have been day 16.

We dtd every other day from day 8 and then the day before and day of ovulation, skipped a day and then did the day after.

I take procieve and this month was the first month we tried using the fertilily cup.

Who knows what of that helped...! I'm feeling a lot rougher than I did at this stage in the last pregnancy that ended in a loss (awake at 3 eating biscuits to try get rid of nausea to get back to sleep!) so really hopping this one sticks but it's so tough after you've experienced a MC.

This is such a rough ride, hoping you get your BFP and a sticky bean soon x

Sorry to here about your loss too ❤️‍🩹 but congratulations on your current pregnancy! Sounds like your situation was the same as mine. It sounds like the clear blue tests might be worth investing in, as there is always a chance we’re missing when I actually ovulate… I might give them a go in the new year. But going to have a chill month for December and try and put it to the back of my mind …while also hoping for a Christmas miracle 😂
