Been trying to conceive for 2 and a half years and using ovulation sticks. I symptom spot every month but this month my body has been really weird. Got a positive ovulation test day 12 and round about then had pains in my right ovary and a shooting pain in my left ovary that caught my breath. So I assumed this could have been ovulation. We had sex over the days leading upto and over this. On day 14 I woke up with what felt like bad period cramps, I've never had this before at this point in my cycle. I actually thought I might start but nothing. Since then I've had alot of cramping in my sides, back, stitch type feelings. I had a dream one night i got a positive test. On day 22 of my cycle I got a small bit of brown discharge which I get a couple of days before my period. And now I'm pretty sure I'm starting. I just feel my body has played an absolute blinder, I get disappointed each month but this month has been so weird I was convinced maybe it was the one.

I think the issue here is symptom spotting.. unfortunately we all do it! It's difficult because you pay so much more attention to your body so you pick up on the smallest things that wouldn't have concerned you before. That, paired with the fact that our symptoms for pregnancy, ovulation and our period are so similar. It's best to try to not over think and only test after you've missed your period. When is your period due? You may still be in for a chance. :)

I totally agree about our bodies playing tricks on us when TTC.

I had months where I was absolutely 100% certain I was pregnant as I had so many 'symptoms' and just felt pregnant. I too had dreams about it and was second guessing everything....... each of those months I got a BFN.

The 2 times I have actually been pregnant I've had no unusual symptoms at all and actually ruled myself out those months as it just felt like AF was about to arrive. I never even tested until I'd missed a period as it didn't occur to me to test earlier.

I'm sure it's a cruel game our bodies play on us

Due any day now, usually get the brown discharge a day or 2 before. The symptom spotting is driving me mad.
