Line too light for 14 dpo?

Peachmelbaa · 22/11/2024 09:34

I’ve been trying to conceive for a year and a half since a miscarriage with no success.

I got a positive early digital test yesterday afternoon (13 dpo) and this morning I did a boots five day early test at 14 dpo, it’s definitely positive but the line seems faint. I have nothing to compare it with as I didn’t take any earlier tests this cycle.

I had really bad cramps at 10 dpo so much so I was convinced my AF was on its way, hence why I didn’t take any tests until now. So I’m wondering if I implanted a little late.

Could this be a chemical? Any similar stories would be a real help even if it’s bad news.

I would say the boots tests always give faint lines. I would try a different brand! Xx

Peachmelbaa · 22/11/2024 10:31

@Fashionlover123 thanks for replying! I’ll get a different brand to try tomorrow morning and see what they look like 🤞

My GP has said they will see me this morning too, just with how long it’s taken us to get pregnant again and my miscarriage history.

GP is going to try get the gynaecology team to prescribe me progesterone but she wasn’t concerned about the line being light. I’m still not convinced, until the tests get darker.

I’ll update the thread with the outcome.

Line progression from 14 dpo to 15 dpo, definitely looking darker today!

That's amazing, congratulations and all the very of luck @Peachmelbaa ! 🎉

I'm now 15dpo, AF 1 day late supposedly (because it varies every cycle) and I've had very faint lines this morning on 2 amazon cheapies. Not sure what to think really. I've been having BFN every day, only testing for the sake of it. I have been absolutely ravenous the last couple of days, so am convinced AF is almost here, even ordered a hertility box to test on day 3... But now this planted the doubt in my head: what if? It's so hard not to have the hopes up.

Peachmelbaa · 23/11/2024 11:02

@Mae2B thanks, trying to keep my hopes up that this pregnancy is a success after how long it’s took us to concieve again 🙏

Are you able to get a more sensitive test today to see if the line is darker? You might have implanted late. I’m almost sure I implanted late at 10dpo with this pregnancy whereas with my miscarriage in 2023 I think I implanted earlier at 7dpo as I had a bit of spotting that day.

I too was convinced AF was gonna show at the start of this week, I even had a little cry about it on Monday night before getting the positive test on Wednesday! Keep me updated, I’ve got my fingers crossed for you 🤞

Aww thank you! I'll let you know if it also darkens over the next few days or if AF arrives. The tests I used are 10miu/ml so fairly sensitive but possibly faulty being so cheap, so I'll keep testing over the next few days just to see how it evolves. I don't think I ovulated late because I had a positive LH surge at CD12, but I've just asked chatgpt and you're right, implantation could have occurred quite later than usual (it says usually it's 6-12dpo but sometimes it can be up to 14dpo).

Really wishing this is your rainbow baby 🌈 keep me posted as well ☺️

Congratulations! Sounds like it was likely a later implantation. Fingers crossed it's a sticky one! Xxx

Mae2B · 25/11/2024 20:36

@Harriet1989 thanks, but for me it wasn't, turned into a chemical today😞

@Peachmelbaa how are you?

Thanks lovely. A bit tearful this morning, but trying to find some silver lining ☺️

Expectingnum3 · 25/11/2024 20:42

I didn’t even have a line until 3 days after my period was due. I did two cheapie tests that both came back negative on the day I was due on, then I did a clear blue early detection a few days later which was only a faint positive. I was sure when I ovulated too so I think my HCG levels just must have rose quite slowly right at the start. Now half way through that pregnancy. Lots of reasons why it may be faint, hope it’s a sticky one for you :)

Peachmelbaa · 26/11/2024 19:13

@Harriet1989 thank you, I really hope so 🤞

@Mae2B I’m so sorry to hear that, I hope you’re doing okay 💗 I had a hcg blood test yesterday and it came back as 140 at 4 weeks 3 days. I go back tomorrow to see if it has doubled but it’s not looking hopeful as that number is quite low. Hoping for a miracle and that it’s just slow rising hcg but preparing for the worst!

@Expectingnum3 thank you, really hoping that I just have slow hcg levels too 🤞 I have read a few threads on mumsnet who have had hcg levels lower or similar to mine at this stage but they’ve doubled as normal and they’ve gone on to have healthy pregnancies, hopefully this happens with me.

@Peachmelbaa really really keeping all my fingers crossed for you!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Peachmelbaa · 27/11/2024 11:27

I can’t believe it, the number has more than doubled in 48 hours to 400, so the nurses are happy. Hopefully this little bean is just a late implanter like I originally thought 🤞

Just to update this for anyone that comes across this thread in the future.

This pregnancy resulted in my rainbow baby girl who is now almost three months old, she’s everything I ever dreamt of and more.

I was given progesterone at 5 weeks to take until 16 weeks and it worked 🩷

I wasn't on the original thread but just wanted to say congratulations, so happy for you!
