Getting pregnant with a polyp

I have recently been told that I have a 1cm polyp in my uterus which I am waiting for an gynae appointment for.

Has anyone here got pregnant with a polyp? I am reading conflicting things online.. some say it will be much harder and others say it shouldn't stop you getting pregnant

I had a polyp on my uterus removed. We did struggle to get pregnant, but that was fertility issues not due to the polyp. We eventually managed to have a baby.

I have a very small polyp (2mm) and they aren't planning to remove it. They said to me that we don't regularly scan women who are TTC and don't have issues so we don't really know how many have polyps - and that they come and go often with your period. They said the location can sometimes impact fertility but often there's no issue at all

Oh my gosh if you are trying to get pregnant have it removed immediately please! Mine is a very long story but basically we were trying for six months, doctors checked everything, everything seemed fine, we went down the IVF route, got a good amount of embryos. They started to implant them, but all failed. Went back to gyno very much frustrated and said that wanted to change clinics. She checked me one last time and figured out I had a polyp. Basically they operated me in August and in October 2 I had a positive pregnancy test. I have my baby now. So yes it makes a huge difference it’s not supposed to be there!

Just to add I got a BFP this morning so polyp hasn't stopped it!

Hey @Harriet1989 and @SarahFlower - any updates from either of you? I’ve been diagnosed with a 1cm polyp this week on my uterus and waiting for a gyne referral xx

Hey there! I'm now 22 weeks, I was never treated for the polyp. It was weighed up by the fertility clinic but they advised leaving it after doing a further check if it had grown or changed and it was staying the same. I was pregnant shortly after and I mentioned it at my scans but they didn't seem concerned and it's not since come up

Hope everything goes well for you x
