My last cycle I got a positive ovulation test on day 17 and 18 and got my period on day 30. So I had a 29 day cycle and I presume I ovulated on day 18-19. I am a bit worried this is too short only 10 or 11 day can any shed some light thanks. I started clomid this month but dosent seem to have done anything as I still ovulated on today day 18. Also had a scan only got one follicle big enough. So no change with or with out clomid as I am ovulating any way. Has any one used progesterone creams to help with this. Thanks

Hi cedar12

I'm certainly no expert but just wanted to bump your thread.

I'm sure I've read several times on here that as long as it is 10 days it shouldn't be a problem.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along soon to confirm

I have pretty much the same cycle as you. O between CD18 - 20 and then LP of about 10 days. I got pregnant on our first try - sadly ended in mc, but not until 11 weeks, so it had nothing to do with short LP/progesterone deficiency.

I've been taking B6 to try and lengthen it.

Thanks prepreg and Eleveld. How much vitb6 are you taking Eleveld I started taking 50 mg a couple of months ago has really helped with pmt and my skin.

I had been off BCP for two months and we started TTC on the third cycle. I started taking 50mg of B6 that cycle and don't really know if it worked because I got pregnant. I took the 50mg of B6 pretty religiously the first cycle after the miscarriage, but my LP stayed at about 10 days (although I had spotting and wasn't sure if it should be considered CD1 or not, so LP could've been slightly longer). Because I couldnt' see any change last month, I upped my dose a bit and I've been taking 100mg/day for this cycle.

Bit of a long winded response to your question, but there you go!

I definatly ovulated today cd19 and if my cycle is going to be the same as last month luteal phase will only be 10 days.

I'm bumping this one, as I have a short LP, and wonder if any one has any info...

glastochick · 14/05/2008 09:24

I also have an LP of 10 days. I've read elsewhere on here that it shouldn't be a problem. However, if you're concerned, a visit to the Dr might be worth planning. Mind you, I'm a fine one to talk - haven't managed to get up the courage to visit Dr as it will mean acknowledging there 'may' be a problem.

As for buying things over the internet, I'm not sure. I guess it could just be harmless moisturising cream that they sell you, but you will never know what's in it. If you can buy something from a shop, I guess that's better as they can't sell something as progesterone if it's not, IFSWIM

As I recall LESS than 10 days is a problem... Check with your GP, as you can take progesterone supplements in the 2WW to 'support' a short LP.

Cripes! Mine is 8 days...
