I know the response will be “buy some in date” which I’ve done but they won’t arrive till 1pm tomorrow, so I won’t be able to test till Friday.

Tentatively TTC and realising all our tests are very expired (2years +)

Would these work at all? They’re all sealed. Trying not to get hopes up.

I think they’ll work! You may as well use them just to see, you’ll get confirmation later so x

NamechangeTTC · 20/11/2024 11:19

They look tentatively positive but I’m not sure I trust it!

Congratulations! Amazing news for you xx

Looks like an expired test I used and asked the same question on here a few years back. DD has just turned 2!

From much googling at the time, I came to the conclusion that out of date tests are more likely to be a false negative as the chemical that detects HCG and makes the test line has weakened. A positive is almost certainly a positive, especially a strong one like that.

Congratulations! x

NamechangeTTC · 20/11/2024 20:24

eek!

I’ve got some ordered as it feels stronger than with #1 @Emmzo

thanks @LucyLou0527

I’d say those are positive! Don’t stress about the cheapies being lighter lines. They take ages to get darker.

Congratulations and I hope you get your positive tomorrow on an in-date test too.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 21/11/2024 05:58

Just looked and that blue cheapy is an ovulation test.

2Sensitive · 21/11/2024 05:59

They are positive
Congratulations, so the worry begins

Yes I should have said I did an LH too as that was positive when I was pregnant before. Since I had an abundance of tests!

Absolutely. Just found an even older FRER and it’s lighter so I’m suspicious that things aren’t right.

new tests are 7 stops away on Amazon yet on my street!

How are things? 🙂🙂

NamechangeTTC · 21/11/2024 16:58

1-2 weeks on digital. Going to do a new FRER on sat when there should have been doubling.

id have guessed 4+2 on LMP so that fits. Can’t deny hoping for 2-3!

And the FRER darkened as it dried out.

This is hypocritical of me but try to stop testing. You’re pregnant! The darkness of the tests isn’t an accurate indication of anything and I know from experience how it enhances the stress when it doesn’t seem dark enough.

Congratulations! 🥳 Hopefully you have a lovely, uneventful pregnancy with a beautiful, healthy baby at the end.

NamechangeTTC · 21/11/2024 20:20

@BeingATwatItsABingThing I’m definitely going to test less now that I’ve got a confirmation in date test!

Update - first day without testing. That’s big for me!
