Hi

Please can you knowledgeable ladies tell me what you think is going on with this cycle, because I'm confused.

I used OPKs all month but never got a positive (I know they can be unreliable)

Didn't even do that much BDing - think we managed about 3 times around days 11 - 15, then day 18 and day 28.

I had blood test last month which showed I didn't ovulate. I had blood test done again this month on day 22 and I'm pretty certain it has again showed no ovulation as gynae has made appointment to see me.

On days 29 - 31/32 I had a bit of 'brown gunk' on a tampax (once there was the teeniest dot of red blood) - sorry for the TMI. I thought this was the usual spotting but it didn't turn into AF

Now on CD 36 and absolutely nothing. I have never had cycle this long.

Also, absolutely no symptoms - either AFwise or PG

Have done two tests - last one was yesterday (Sainsbury one) - 100% negative. Not even the glimmer of a line.

So I believe I am definitely not pg - mainly because it doesn't look like I ovulated. also, if I was would surely have a positive test by now?? And have absolutely no symptoms (normally get really tender boobs in lead up to AF).

I don't think the 3 days of 'brown gunk' a week ago could have been my period - wouldn't have even known about it if I hadn't had to use a tampon (was at work and thought AF was due)

What do you think? anyone else had similar experience and, if so, what was the end result? Sorry for the long post

Many thanks

Do you have a specific condition which is causing your cycle to be anovulatory?
The mid cycle spotting and long cycles are common with anovulatory cycles are they not?

I'm presuming your Gynae is aware of this, but iirc any abnormal bleeding is just that.

Have you had thyroid levels checked?

I don't have any answers tbh but didn't want your thread to go unanswered.

It is possible that you had not ovulated yet at blood test (CD22) and that the spotting/old blood came from ovulation.

I have never had any bleeding at ovulation but there are definitely other MNers that have.

So your period could still be around a week away, and it would be too early to get a positive on HPT.

When do you see the doc?

Thanks for your reply.

I don't have PCOS but do have endometriosis - although there are no cysts present at the moment.

I have never had abnormal bleeding before. Always get couple of days of spotting that turns immediately into AF.

Got appointment with gynae in 2 weeks which I expect he will be suggesting some treatment for the anovulatory cycle.

Have never had thyroid levels checked.

Thanks TheSlightestTeuch

I see gynae 2 weeks tomorrow so will be discussing it all then.

I've never had an ovulation bleed before but I suppose there is a first for everything!

Suppose I just have to wait and see. If AF is another week away that would be something like a 43 day cycle - unheard of for me

Oh the only other thing I forgot to say is that the last couple of days I have been unusually tired. Had good nights sleep Friday but then could hardly keep my eyes open all day Sat.

Sat night I slept for about 12 hours(!) and then was shattered again last night
