Sorry I hate these kind of threads but I'm desperate. I've had a mirena coil in for the last 2 years and rarely get periods. Started having sex without any other protection about 2 months ago as in committed relationship. I'm 49. This can't possibly be positive can it?? I have 2 DCs already and divorced from their dad.

It does look like it could be positive. What made you take a test?

I’d take another test, and if positive you need to go to an early pregnancy unit as the risk of ectopic pregnancy rises to 1 in 20 with a coil in situ. Any pain anywhere?

And can you actually feel your coil strings, or is there a chance it’s come out without you knowing?

Thank you @WetBandits Christ. I took a test as my partner had a dream I was pregnant and was panicking! So I thought I'd do the test to reassure him. Ffs.
I think there's an EPU in my local hospital. I'll go tomorrow. Thank god the kids are with their dad this weekend.
I've never managed to feel the strings as I'm a bit squeamish 😳. No pain or anything. Feel totally fine and looking forward to going out to dinner tonight! Haven't spoken to partner, he's away with his parents for a week. This is the last thing either of us need.

I have never thought I'd be in this situation. I'm considering my options. Thank god we live in a country where we have a choice. Will have to talk to partner too I guess

Go get another few tests op and don't panic until you have a confirmed positive. I'm not sure it even is

So I tested again and it was clearly negative. Hoping the first test was just a dodgy one? But I think I'd better buy another test just to be sure. agh.
