Help with my BBT chart, please?

I've been tracking my BBT this cycle but have never done so properly before, so I'm a bit confused. Can anyone read my chart and tell me if it's looking ok, please?

Have I definitely ovulated? Does it look like a likely pregnancy or is it too soon to tell?

For info, I have one tube that's blocked so would be intrigued to know if this month was a "good" month or a "bad" month.

I missed a couple of days here and there but have remained mostly consistent since the 4th Nov.

Thanks in advance!

Hi OP, Your chart looks good, your temp has gone over the cover line and stayed high so you have ovulated. Your temp remains high until AF so there’s no way of knowing beforehand if you are pregnant. If you are pregnant it will remain high and if not it will drop when AF arrives.

Thank you so much! Does it matter if my temp dips a little bit, as long as it's still over the cover line?

Also, do you know if it would still pick up ovulation if I ovulated from my blocked tube, thus there's no egg?

Yes it’s normal for temp to fluctuate, as long as it stays above cover line you are not out.

I’m not 100% but I believe yes you will have all the ovulation signs and your temp will increase even if you ovulate from the blocked side as it will still be released but just not get fertalised.

Maybe download Fertility Friend as I find its charts a lot clearer than PreMom! Also PreMom isn't so reactive to the data you input so it could just be basing the overall day just on your OPK or its standard predictions rather than your temps.

It's too early to tell much more than whether you've ovulated or not - a triphasic chart (which doesn't happen with every pregnancy anyway) would probably show a second temp shift a few days later on, and you'd not get the pre AF temp drop until right at the end of your cycle.

I follow the fertility awareness method so have been tracking with BBT for a while. Technically speaking you have too many missing temps to confirm - you need to be seeing a temp that goes above the preceding 6 temps to confirm ovulation. That said, it does look like you've likely ovulated as your temp is increasing.

Unfortunately pregnancy charts and non-pregnancy charts look similar. The only way of knowing from a chart is by having 18 temps above your coverline, but I'm guessing you'll have tested before then as that's quite a long time to wait.

The Facebook group Fertility Awareness Method of Birth Control is a great group for chart help. Despite it's name, lots of folk are TTC rather than trying to prevent.

Also Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book for getting your head around charting and can usually be picked up quite cheaply second hand.

Your other key give away for likely ovulation is the presence of egg white cervical mucus. Usually that will line up relatively closely to a temp spike to indicate ovulation.

I downloaded Fertility Friend yesterday and input all my data, this is the chart. I find it more confusing than Premom, somehow.

I've got more discharge than usual. Would that also be present even if an egg hasn't actually been fertilised due to the blocked tube?

Yes, I kept forgetting to temp as soon as I woke up, it's a learning curve!

This morning I woke up at 6.30am and temped, but then went back to sleep until 8.30am and temped again. Which temp is more accurate, do you think?

Thank you for all the info so far, it's definitely a lot clearer already!

Double check that temp on the 4th November on FF. Was that a typo? It may make better sense then. Have you also inputted your positive OPK result?

Haha, hadn't noticed that, yes it was a typo. Thanks!

No I didn't, I mainly use Premom to track everything, was just intrigued about FF's chart and if I could read it more easily, but I prefer the Premom one I think. I can't figure out where to even input it on the FF app?

It's definitely more responsive to data than PreMom - and I find it therefore predicts my cycle more accurately so it still may be worth preserving with.

If you scroll down past the basic data/favorites bit, you'll see Tests & Devices - that's where you can add the OPK.

Good luck!
