Symptoms right after ovulation - TTC

Hi all,

Apologies if this is not the right thread. Me and DH are TTC (on second month of actual trying, before we were NTNP). Anyhoo, I’m fairly certain that I know when I ovulated (as I tend to get EWMC and also ovulation cramps each month). Then immediately following ovulation, I kept cramping and started having other symptoms such as sore breasts and mood swings the day after that. Am currently on 7 dpo.

I was wondering if anyone else had PMS like symptoms right after ovulating, and could this be a sign (or not)? Or it’s probably just me worretting aha…

Thanks for your support ladies!

Hi @Pianogirl1994 I'm in the same boat. I didn't use opks but monitored cm so roughly know when I potentially ovulated. I think I'm roughly 5dpo today after rechecking my dates and timings. Since ovulation I've had strong cramps and sore nipples. The cramps have been everyday. However I only got my periods back in August as I'm currently breastfeeding my 18 month old so don't know if it's just my body starting to get back used to having cycles again. Let me know how you get on x

Thank you - I will do! I came off the pill not too long before we started trying, so part of me is wondering if it’s the usual cycles coming back etc…I’ve come down with a super dry throat today, but I don’t know if it means anything (DH has a cold so who knows).

Since coming off the pill, it’s been a bit up and down - some cycles I’ve had symptoms from a day after ov and others I’ve had barely any.

I have bought opks so if it doesn’t happen this month, I’ll give them a try.

Congrats on your 18 month-old!

Thank you! :)
I'm definitely doing opks next month too if this month is unsuccessful. I'm still cramping so have no idea what's going on! Hope you manage to stave off the cold.

I’m in the 2WW and have today and yesterday been having mild cramping on and off, also I've had a couple of shooting pains/twinges up in my cervix, only other time I had those were 4/5days before AF was due when i was pregnant with my youngest, but feels way too early for me yet, am only on CD17!

Thanks! I got a bit of spotting today - a very slightly pinkish tinge on toilet paper but not proper bleeding. Still got cramping and some acne too. I’m not sure if I should give up yet! I’ll see how it develops…

@Knightbaby I also got some weird twinges down there, which feel a lot like vibrations. I sometimes get them before AF but I’ve had them at other times too. Maybe you’re ovulating later than usual? Or it could be a shorter cycle? Mine are usually on the shorter side (21-25 days is the norm for me, though I have had the odd longer one).

@Pianogirl1994 could be implantation? Fingers crossed for you! I’m usually a good 28 day cycle but couple of months ago i had a 25 day cycle! Just feel really sensitive up there but feeling really agitated today, so am assuming we will be at CD1 again soon lol! Am holding off testing till at least end of the week.

Sadly it wasn’t to be! But, today I am on CD15 and just ovulating! (I got EWCM a couple of days ago and my classic Mittelschmerz/ mid cycle twinge right now). I also took an OPK which funnily enough showed negative when my EWCM started, but got a smiley face today…

DDT twice since seeing EWCM so will be anxiously starting another TWW as of tomorrow…! I tend to have shorter luteal phases too (since coming off the pill) which some say can hurt your chances, but others don’t. Here’s hoping!

keeping my fingers crossed for you too!
