Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Is it worth going to the GP if I wouldn't pursue fertility treatment?

We have been TTC dc5 for a while now, with DC4 having been a second trimester pregnancy loss. (Post mortem was carried out and the cause of death wouldn't affect any future pregnancies) I'm 37, and we have 3 living children so we wouldn't pursue any kind of fertility treatment but is there anything simple that could be preventing pregnancy? I have regular periods and get positive opks at about the right time so nothing seems to be wrong. Our other children were conceived within 3 months of trying.

I'm very sorry for your loss. How long ago was it?

Do you know how long your luteal phase is (the bit between ovulating and period starting?) This can be quite short for some women and lengthening it can help.

On a personal note, after trying for a little while, we followed the sperms meets egg plan with PreSeed lube and it worked first time.
