Hi ladies,
Just wanted to warn you guys that I took 6 frer tests yesterday and all 6 of them from different boxes had faint lines on when I took them. All showed within the first 3 minutes and looked like they were pink etc, however I believe these are indents and have been a horrible torment :(.
Please be careful and use other tests, I did an easy at home and its totally white...

Hey, not to potentially give false hope, but is it not more likely that the easy at home is wrong?

Feelingstrange2 · 07/11/2024 15:55

Also, presumably this is very very early.

Maybe overnight there's been some change.

Good luck with everything working out for you one day.

Sunshine1204 · 07/11/2024 16:02

Thanks for replying ladies, @Feelingstrange2 I did a frer this morning too alongside the easy at home and the same faint pink line was there but easy at home totally white.
I've done so much googling and this looks to be super common 😔 the indents are super bad.
No idea where I am in my cycle as I had a MMC 6 months ago and this then I've had longer than normal cycles.
Just thought I should warn other ttc ladies as I really got my hopes up until I did all the googling

@wateringcanface last time I was pregnant the easy at home picked it up way before the frer did so I think the frers give nasty false hope!

Sunshine1204

Ok, I'm sorry if it is false, from what I've understood false positives are rare but I will trust your judgement. I hope you get better luck going forward x

FRERs are more sensitive, I believe. 6.5miu compared to the 10miu of the early cheapy strip tests.

I haven't used a FRER in ages as they're so pricy and hard to get hold of nowadays, but I find with Boots early tests you can almost always see a white indent line when you first use it, which can potentially look positive if any dye catches at the edge, but if the lines you say are pink and thick then I'd say they're likely positive. You'll know more tomorrow.

@curliegirlie thank you for your reply ❤️ I thought frer were also 10miu so that's interesting.
Will see what happens over next few days.
Dr google didn't fill me with much hope 😞
