Has anyone applied to universal credit with an NCC1 form and recieved this child element backdated to the start of the uc claim or child's date of birth ? Or did they refuse to backdate ? Thanks you x

They typically don’t backdate it automatically, if you request that is usually goes to decision maker x

I thought you didn't get the child element with the 3rd?

You typically don’t but there are exceptions

What are the exceptions?

Yeah that's definitely a fair enough reason. I wish I could get the extra help but won't be entitled

Yeah they have a thing for not backdating payments. Mines would be £10,300 , so I really doubt they will want to pay that , I have seen women on here and Facebook who have received backdated and those who didn't receive backdated , it's terrible that they can pick and choose when we have the same circumstances. @Carol4155 sorry to be a pain- but you seem to be pretty on it! I was just wondering if you could explain the process of applying to me a bit better and if you could give me a rough idea of your claim history- on how long it took from start to finish when applying. My youngest is 4. We are currently in a DV shelter. I left their dad 3 1/2 years ago but he hasn't stopped and things got worse when Ieft. My local job centre are very aware of the situation, they've had to do safeguarding referrals for me and at one point I was having to do quick calls in every week for them to just make sure I was okay and to talk. They have been really supportive actually and also have asked for police occurance numbers because they were so concerned. Yet, they never .mentioned this form to me.
