Ladyinpink1 · 27/10/2024 17:50

Hello, I have been ttc since September 2022, fell preg twice the first year, but neither worked out, now on month 14 ttc since then.
Have tried all dif supplements and different ways ttc and tracking/not tracking.
Just wondered was anyone else in the sane boat or been in the same boat and have a success story? 🙂

No success, but I am currently CD1 of cycle 14 TTC first baby. I am due to have a hysterosalpingogram this month and hoping I may have success after as have read it can increase chances of pregnancy afterwards for 3 months.

Ladyinpink1 · 27/10/2024 18:11

Sorry you are in the long time trying club too @MocktailMe IJust looked up the hysterosalpingogram, that sounds good, it is a really thorough scan with dye then, Is that right? Even better if pregnancy rates after are higher! I have a gynecologist appointment coming up, I am going to ask for a basic scan to see how everything is looking. x

Hey ladies, I'm on cycle 15 though TTC number 2 so appreciate not the same as TTC number 1.

I've had all the tests and scans, sounds like you've both got the ball rolling with it. I do know ladies who have taken a while to get pregnant (more than a year) and eventually it worked out xx

Sending you so much solidarity. It took me 3 years to conceive my daughter. I'll never know if it was related but for me it finally happened during lockdown when my husband and I were both WFH and generally much less stressed in life. (That's absolutely not to say that if you "just relax it'll happen" as it drives me bonkers when i hear that. But i do think there is some power in at least trying to find some calm in your life where you can). We've been trying for a second for close to 18mo now but hopefully will get there. I guess the reality is that sometimes you can be timing it to a T, be in perfect health, on all the supplements etc but it can just take time. Im not sure how old you are but could always go to your GP to have a chat and start having some initial tests if it'd put your mind at ease). I really hope you get your BFP soon and sending you all the baby dust! X

CarolNewYear · 27/10/2024 19:15

I was.
Trying for 18 months.
Had two chemical pregnancies in this time. Now 7 weeks pregnant. Getting cautiously excited. Every time I've had a positive pregnancy test/ have been pregnant I've used a conception cup on that cycle. I'm not saying theyll work for everyone, but did seem to help get sperm moving in the right direction! Hope you have some positive news soon. I know how hard it is getting your hopes up every month x

Ladyinpink1 · 27/10/2024 19:41

@Fairy0708 Also not number 1 for me, I fell relatively fast before and with last years losses so not sure what has changed. Get the feeling I'm getting old lol. I got alot of blood tests done through the miscarriage clinic and also by GP and everything seems fine but I haven't had any scans etc to check. x

@secondtimelucky87 Thank you, 3 years must of been awful, that really was a long time for you, hoping you get a bfp very soon too. I know what you mean, i have read lots on here it happenening at more relaxed times like on holiday or just before the first ivf appointment x

Congratulations @CarolNewYear and thank you for sharing, it's so nice to read a positive story x

I’ve been ttc #3 for 3.5 years now. I needed ivf for my first dc and second was a natural conception after 18 months trying. This time been trying Letrozole if no luck will be back to ivf in January (FET)

Ladyinpink1 · 28/10/2024 08:52

I'm sorry you have been trying for that amount of time @Threepointfive This is number 3 for me too. Can I ask, will you need to pay private for the ivf? x

@Ladyinpink1 hopefully the scans will help. Did the docs give any advice re: the losses? So sorry xx

I concieved DC1 on cycle one... I was 30 at the time, now 35 (but started TTC just after I turned 34). I had a Hycosy and internal scans. Hopefully there is truth that it can just be down to time/luck/a lottery.

Such a lovely positive message. Those 3 years just have been so hard but glad you got there.

I totally agree. There is no evidence that stress causes infertility. What I have read however is that stress can interfere with hormones/biology that can make conception more difficult. For me I know that through a really rough period of stress for around 6-9m my periods totally changed, got closer together!

Westofeasttoday · 28/10/2024 09:09

So I’m not trying to peddle anything, but this worked for me. After three years of trying and two miscarriages, I saw my doctor who was amazing and said his wife had 17 (yes you read that right) before they conceived their third child. He said he was speaking to an old colleague who was an obstetrician who advised him to take low dose aspirin. He said as we get older our blood becomes a bit thicker and can’t pass from body to baby as easily. I took it for a couple of months and then fell.

Im not trying to give false hope or maybe I needed to believe that taking a pill would work but it did for me. By this time I was with a consultant who I told her about this and she said there wasn’t any harm to continue taking it through the first 12 weeks.

Please ask a doctor first but just wanted to share.

Yes we had one nhs round for dc1 (didn’t work it was the third cycle that worked) we have then self funded since then.

Ladyinpink1 · 28/10/2024 19:14

@Fairy0708 Thank you, it sadly seems to be so common. No abnormality from any of the blood tests and they did so many, which was good but also frustrating as there is nothing I can fix. The appointment I have coming up with the gynecologist is actually because I have had 2 and I am over 35 (I'm 36), I'm not really sure what to expect but I will take anything going and any advice I can get 🙂
So everything went well with your investigations? Or was anything found? How did you find the hycosey? x

@Westofeasttoday 17 sounds horrific, I can't even imagine.
I have actually been taking baby asprin this cycle from just before ovulation. Although part of my tests were the coagulation tests and they came back normal but I thought it can't do any harm anyway as it's only the 1/2 dose. Tbh I would try anything!
Did you take it every day of your cycle or just the latter half? x

That's a big outgoing for you @Threepointfive I hope things happen naturally for you before January. Do you have any plans to try anything new or different between now and then? x

Fairy0708 · 28/10/2024 19:25

@Ladyinpink1 I completely understand! All my blood tests and scans have been fine. Has your partner had a sperm analysis? Sorry if I missed it somewhere. With the hycosy I genuinely find smear tests more uncomfortable. It was the most painless procedure - I wasn't even sure if it had happened!

BlackToes · 28/10/2024 19:27

Go get a day 21 progesterone test via gp

BlackToes · 28/10/2024 19:28

I had the same and day 21 progesterone tests showed immature eggs. Just needed clomid tablets to conceive

LkS2 · 28/10/2024 19:30

I tried for 2 years, 2 losses in that time. I did fertility acupuncture and fell pregnant 5 weeks later, and my baby was born earlier this year. No idea if it was the acupuncture but I had tried what felt like every single supplement/trick in the book and was willing to try anything. Lots of luck x

moosey89 · 28/10/2024 19:37

Grand total of 54 cycles (4.5 years), 3 MMCs. Had every test under the sun and all are totally normal 🤷 had an HSG too, didn't work for me, kinda got my hopes up (just like when they say you're more fertile after a miscarriage) and so felt worse when it didn't happen. Starting to think it's just not the path that I was meant to go down. Giving it until July (with a review in Jan to see if I want to keep going) before we stop.

You are too kind but we were lucky in the end…..I took it when we were trying (when I started) and then everyday until 12 weeks can. I asked my doctor and he said it was fine. All fingers crossed and I mean this kindly and not in a condescending way but really try and relax. When I let it go and tried not to be so stressed that helped too. Sure a lot easier said than done I know, Everyone’s journey is different and sometimes it takes longer or you need a little help.

Moosey89, I think I asked you this somewhere before but I've lost track, I know you said you had had every test but have you had immune tests? Just wanted to ask in case x

moosey89 · 28/10/2024 21:15

@Objectiontime I'm waiting on a referral to Dr Shehata that was put in earlier in the year. My last loss was definitely genetic causes, and I get to 8-11 weeks so they don't think it's that but no harm in the referral, although as it's NHS even though it's been 6+ months already I don't expect an appointment before my July deadline unfortunately.

Ladyinpink1 · 29/10/2024 16:55

@Fairy0708 oh really, would you say it was worth getting done then?
No he hasn't, he is a rascal, said because I have already been pregnant 4 times he doesn't need to 🤷🏼‍♀️ i will ask again soon x

@Westofeasttoday I will keep taking it every day too then, I know, I have been trying to tell myself to make a conscious effort to be more relaxed. I ordered magnesium salts today so going to try and have baths in them as it's supposed to help you relax and can balance hormones so we will see x
