Do you think I should push for clomid?

Hi

I have endometriosis (for several years - have had couple of ops).

Have been TTC no 1 for 5 months now. Blood test last month says didn't ovulate. Was waiting for results of this month (hoping it showed I ovuldated) and instead the letter from my gynae has just set up an appointment with him (which I know means I didn't ovulate again and he needs to discuss this).

Given my history, my age (38) and first indicative blood test results do you think I should be asking for Clomid? Just want to be as informed as I can before the appointment

I am sure the consultant will offer CLOMID. At 38 trying for a first baby you cant hang about waiting for the NHS to get around to you. Sadly a majority of people are forced to go privately because of the wait or just the lack of knowledge within some NHS hospitals. For something like this you want a place that sees woman like you day in day out. Would highly recommend the Lister Hospital. My medical insurance at work covered tests when we were struggling to conceive our second child which really helped. They recommended IVF which I didnt want at all but we started the first part of the course and had to stop because I was already pregnant! Lister said that I was the third woman that month who started the treatment and then had to stop. Only thing was - I had over £1000 worth of drugs which I then didnt need to use. I donated them to the Lister and did write a note (obviously without my personal details) saying that they were 'lucky drugs'. I hope someone used them and they were successfull.

A slight word of warning about the Lister. It is multi million pound business. The waiting room is jammed packed. If at all possible try and get one of the first appointments to save waiting around. I always used to ask for a first appointment regardless of where I was - less chance of getting backed up and delayed.
