Hi all,
Starting a thread for people who are TTC/testing in November 2024.

A bit about me. I am TTC#1. I'm 35 and DH is 36, we have been trying since Dec 2023 and this will be our 13th cycle! We've had some basic tests and all seem to be OK, but GP referred us to fertility clinic today. So feel like we're entering the next stage of TTC.

Fertile week is next week. I'm not going to test until a missed period, which will be 14th Nov.

There were a lot of positives in the October thread so hopefully we're as lucky! 💖

Ooo I hope so haha! I’ll TRY and wait but i’m likely to do it every morn now 😂😂

It helps me a lot to be fair due to my messed up cycles. I actually missed ovulation last month looking back as I didn't go off EWCM.. I ovulated right after AF then but was sure I had a peak a week later. My tests this month was the darkest ive ever gotten on an LH test and matched EWCM. Also - should we need medical help in the future, I feel it may help with diagnosis as I know from reading up, some ovary related illnesses can cause lh fluctuations xx

So exciting!!! But try not to stress tonight if that’s at all possible 😅

That’s good to know… I definitely think it is worth it to try and find a pattern especially if your ovulating soon after AF. Hopefully all your tracking paid off 🤞

@Fairy0708 oh sorry I read it again lol
It is our 3rd cycle trying for baby nr 2. :)

@Kateb149 We are currently using Preseed lube for the first time this cycle, and I quite like it.

If we are not pregnant from this cycle, I think I’ll focus more on weight loss and diet cycle 4, maybe that will help.
Trying to add something new every time to feel like we are trying.

Ooh let me know how you get on! I did quite like it too and so did my DH. It might be completely in my head but I swear I felt more movement of the swimmers after using it 😅

I’m doing the same, little bits each cycle. I’m really trying to eat lots of fruit and veg and cut out on sweets/cakes/chocolates but it can be hard! I feel like i’m generally quite healthy but I have been snacking more lately probably due to the stress of TTC 😅

QuirkyPiglet · 29/10/2024 19:37

@Kateb149 it can’t hurt to eat more healthily but it sure is hard! I have heard that zinc is good for the swimmers so I’m smuggling lentils and beans into my partner’s meals 😂 Red lentils seem to completely disappear in curries and bolognese and things with mince. He knows I’m doing it because he works at the supermarket so I get him to bring the shopping home to save me trudging around and he knows I get through a lot!

QuirkyPiglet · 29/10/2024 19:39

How do I take basal temperature? Do I need a special thermometer?

How do I take basal temperature? Do I need a special thermometer?

It’s not a regular thermometer- just google basal body temp one - I have a premom one off amazon. It basically takes it to a . Degree, ie 36.24, instead if 36.2, so if the next day it increases to 36.29, you’d not still see 36.2 etc- helps you see the marginal difference x

That’s so smart! 😂 well at least you can say he knows what he’s consuming 😅 i’ll have to try and find some nice bean and lentil recipes! Thank you for the tip ☺️ x

Thank you all for your responses yesterday on navigating timing around the fertile window. @Wondergirl1111 I think I definitely share your concerns around seeming like I'm only after it for a baby.

Me and DH had a chat last night and he is happy for us to be more direct and wants to know when he needs to be providing the goods haha. Now just to wait until the fertile window which I'm hoping will be soon if my cycle has calmed down after the pill.

MyGardenDaisies · 30/10/2024 08:46

morning!
CD17 and got peak smiley !😊
I hope this is our month, we managed to do it O-4, O-3,O-2 days and hope to DTD today O-1 day.

Found these statistics and it’s very interesting how the rates on Ovulation day are not the highest actually. The sperm indeed has to already be there to “meet the egg”.

99.9% sure i’m out this time :(! Unsure what my cycle is doing tbh. Negative FRER at 11dpo, brighter blood last night back to brown this morn like a AF. Just makes no sense. Hoping body is trying to regulate back to old cycle pattern pre pregnacare tablets and if so, maybe i’ll ovulate again mid november. Time will tell! Xx

QuirkyPiglet · 30/10/2024 09:04

@MyGardenDaisies ooooh! Maybe this is your month! that’s interesting data. I think if AF comes this month I will definitely test LH next cycle to know my ovulation day for sure.

@JW24M oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. Why do you think vitamins would affect you adversely though?

QuirkyPiglet · 30/10/2024 09:05

Welcome @Bettybiscoffbrownie you’ll find lots of support here

Thank you.
i have had a regular cycle for over a year, almost to the day so always know where I am. Never any issues, always the same pains, bleed, time and aftercare.
In June, I started taking pregnacare’s pre-conception tablets. My cycle was then ten days late on the next cycle in July (thought I’d have a BFP!) and then ten days on Augusts. I stopped taking it during that ten day wait. The only thing I can pin to any changes is taking that tablet. I don’t know whether it is coincidence, but when I stopped taking them my pattern has changed to try and mirror my original pattern of cycle. It may/ may not be a coincidence.. but i’m taking H&B folic acid instead and feel better on those. I’ve read up on a few articles where others have had the same with pregnacare… x

JW24M · 29/10/2024 15:26

@CoolSummer89 how are you feeling as you approach your fertile week? xx

Thanks for checking in. I think ovulation day is today (maybe - first cycle not tracking in a while!) It's not been ideal to be honest, our lovely cat died last week which has been, understandably, a mood killer 😥. We DTD on Sunday and both working from home today so going to sneak in a lunchtime DTD. So we have some chances but not loads. Always very awkward when O day is mid-week!
I would say next cycle would be better as I'll O earlier in the week but just realised we're going to be away with family - even more awkward!

I’ve just ordered my first ovulation tests, went with the easyathome ones plus a basal body thermometer. So next month I’ll know for sure when I’m ovulating. Feels good to be doing some proactive 😂

also have a massive spot right in the middle of my chin 🙄…I’m lamenting the fact I get more spots now than I ever did as a teenager

CoolSummer89 · 30/10/2024 11:43

Wow there has been a lot of activity over the past 14 hours - it's so great to see!

@HollyGolightly4 Welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I have been on these forums for a while and it's a genuine safe space. Everyone is so supportive, comforting with disappointing news and celebratory with good news. Glad to have you here, hope you'll feel less isolated.

@Wondergirl1111 Welcome! I have been TTC #1 for 12 cycles now. However the only time I ever had unprotected sex before (many years ago) I had an accidental pregnancy. Now feel very silly for thinking it would be easy this time round. (Think Elle Woods in Legally Blonde "What, like it's hard?")

@1woodpecker Definitely get in touch with your GP. They say try for a year but that's only the advice for no known issues. If you say that you have a history of fibroids/thin lining they may refer you for tests earlier.

@Butterflygirl23 I'm sorry for your loss, reassuring to hear that fertile signs coming as expected.

@QuirkyPiglet Welcome! Do see if you DP can get his sperm tested again, good to know what his baseline is. My DH was able to get referred for a test earlier because he had a medical history which may cause a low sperm count. I'm so sorry that you have had a rough couple of years, we can certainly put a lot of expectation on when we want things to happen. Please don't put any pressure on yourself and the timeline, and just try and enjoy the time with your partner and support each other 💕

@Jologi Of course you can join, fantastic to have you here. I'm so sorry for you loss, best of luck on your journey.

@Sunflowersandmoons Welcome, I'm sorry you've had a rocky and unsettling start to your TTC journey. Wishing you lots of luck for this cycle.

@Bettybiscoffbrownie Welcome! Great to have you here. How old is your little one?

@JW24M ah sorry that your body is playing tricks on you this cycle. Will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Sorry if I missed anyone out in my responses! Baby dust to all 💖

@JW24M sorry to hear it seems like AF 😕 I have heard other stories of fertility supplements affecting people’s cycles so it’s not uncommon I don’t think. I’m taking proceive and I love them. I’ve taken them three months now and my cycles are more regular, my LH peak is much bigger and more noticeable and my EWCM appears each month. So might be something to try although I know you’re probably a bit worried about trying anything else now xx

LolaJ87 · 30/10/2024 12:12

Can I join too please? I'm 37 and TTC baby #2. I got pregnant quite quickly with my son but I'm expecting things to take a bit longer this time as I am a bit older.

Currently have my period (a bad one) and have ovulation strips lined up to start testing when it stops. I've never tracked ovulation before so may ask some stupid questions 🙈

Kazza2803 · 30/10/2024 12:44

Hey ladies! Moved over from previous months thread. So I'm 6 days post ovulation. Suffering from a horrible bout of cystitis (it's been over a decade since I've had this and I'm not coping well atall lol) ... however I went to the toilet and wiped some light light blood... now I'm thinking it could be implantation bleeding as I never bleeding mid cycle and it was the tiniest amount!

LolaJ87 · 30/10/2024 12:48

@Kazza2803 not to burst your bubble as I hope it IS implantation bleeding for you but if you haven't seen a doctor for your cystitis then it might be something you need to consider, I have had some bleeding in the past when it spread and became a kidney infection, which needs antibiotics. Hopefully not the case for you though!

Gemmaemilyx · 30/10/2024 12:51

Afternoon 🩷 I’m currently cycle #2 trying to conceive baby #3. First 2 babies were happy surprises 🤣 aged 12&3. I’m 30 and cycle #1 unfortunately ended in a chemical after only 1 day of faint positives. 2DPO today… good luck girls!! Xx

Kazza2803 · 30/10/2024 12:55

Yes it only started this morning so i doubt it would be a uti and I have no fever or anything so heading to pharmacy at lunchtime! Urine is clear and bleeding only when I wipe and it was the tiniest amount... I'm not keen on antibiotics though for the cystitis if this is implantation bleeding! So I'm on the cranberry juice and water hoping for the best!

Sugarcube84 · 30/10/2024 13:46

Cd13 for me, flo has me as ovulating today Premom says tomorrow. Not had my peak yet but it’s increased a lot from yesterday to today and last month I got my peak in the evening of cd13 so fingers crossed.

Not the best timing though as football is on tonight so I’ll have my work cut out trying to distract dh 😂

Kateb149 · 30/10/2024 15:18

@Sugarcube84 I’ve been there before 😂 lets hope your DH’s team wins and he’ll be in a celebratory mood! Good luck ☺️ xx

thats a good point about testing if there’s a potentially known issue! Seems silly to wait to a year if there’s a fairly obvious thing that might be stopping it happening
