I think I’m having a miscarriage

Currently 5+4 with long awaited baby #2 and woke up to cramping and lots of bright red blood. I’m currently on holiday with my family, and know I need to put on a happy face tomorrow for ds, but I’m just feeling so sad. I’m 38 so starting to accept it won’t happen for me. Not sure why I’m posting, I guess I just need to wrap my head around it.

Do you think you need to go to hospital?

It doesn’t seem any heavier than a period, and it’s so early I think I can wait until I get home Friday.

Oh I'm so sorry. Please look after yourself. Remember it's ok to rest even if you are on vacation. You could just explain to your child that you are not feeling very well and may need to lie down for a day or two...

It's good that you are with family, can you confide in someone you're with so they can help out with dc and look out for you getting unwell?

I meant dh and ds (just our little family) and we had booked an excursion for today- dh started crying when I woke him up to tell him, we’d been trying for so long…

I'm sorry this is happening 😥. Contact your local EPU when you're home (they generally won't see you until you're 6 weeks) and they'll be able to scan you and confirm one way or another.

I've been through miscarriage and know there's nothing really anyone can say to make things better . Look after yourself.
On a positive note , I just gave birth to my first child . 18 years waiting for this little boy so don't give up hope .I'll be 39 in a month. I've friends recently who had babies similar/older age.

Just wanted to say I am so so sorry, I have also had the experience of having to "put on a happy face" during a miscarriage, it's surreal and just awful.
No advice, just sending some understanding and a hug! x
