Severe cramps

Hi just wondering if anyone has experienced this. AF is due today, still no sign but since yesterday I've been having awful painful cramps continuously. I don't usually have painful ones before my period, this is comparable to labour for me!! 😳 I had a chemical pregnancy last cycle and it has put this one out, I'm usually 32/33 days but I'm on day 40 now. I know I ovulated 2 weeks ago though as I was testing. Im worried something is wrong as never had cramps this painful before 😕

@AshleyNoelle surely there's no way I'm pregnant with this amount of pain! I've been pregnant a few times and never had this. Just hoping the chemical last month hasn't messed everything up somehow. I'm currently sat with a hot water bottle and I've taken painkillers and nothing is touching this pain 😞

You know yourself better than anyone else. Anyway, no-one can give you the answers to your questions here. Abdominal/pelvic pain can have all sorts of causes, and you should seek medical advice if you're worried about them.

Please go to A&E. I believed I was pregnant and had excruciating pains that I compared to labour, paracetamol didn’t touch and it was unbearable - I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. I don’t want to scare you, but please go to hospital if the pain is that bad, I left it too long before going xx

Pennyroses · 19/10/2024 22:17

@SWeal sorry you went through that 🙁 were your cramps like usual period cramps x about 1000??! That's what mine feel like. I always thought ectopic was one sided pain?

@Pennyroses Thank you, it’s been rough 😓 They started all over which is why I didn’t go to the hospital as I too knew about the one sided thing. And yes, like period cramps x1000. I actually said to my friend that there’s no way this pregnancy is ok with pains this bad! They would come and go and eased off for a day (which reassured me but I know now that ectopic pain can be intermittent) and then came back with a vengeance on my left side. I didn’t have a single other symptom of ectopic, I was so shocked!

Maybe take a test? I thought I was pregnant for 2 weeks, I was 6 weeks when I went into hospital!

Pennyroses · 20/10/2024 09:35

@SWeal oh that sounds so scary and heartbreaking 💔 did you have to have surgery?
Pains have eased a bit this morning, it really does just feel like I'm getting the worst ever period!! I'm reluctant to take a test as I've been pregnant a few times before so I know the signs quite well and I don't have any of them, I'm so certain that I'm not. If AF isn't here by tomorrow I will or if the pains get worse again. Thanks for your help 🤗

@Pennyroses Yeah, had surgery to remove the pregnancy and my left tube. Had been TTC for 12 months so has hit hard 😓

I’ve had 2 previous babies and this ectopic pregnancy I had barely any symptoms at all - other than tiredness and bloating (these are also ectopic symptoms but I obviously didn’t know☹️). Absolutely, you know your own body - I just couldn’t read and not comment as I left it far too long and almost died. Hopefully AF shows for you asap to put you as ease! You’re welcome 🥰

Harriet1989 · 20/10/2024 20:03

I would call 111 with pains that severe, hope you're okay x

SWeal · 24/10/2024 19:14

@Pennyroses How are you? xx

Again, you, being rude and belittling on yet another thread. Get a life.

Lila34830 · 24/10/2024 19:48

Op, Hope you're ok and you sought medical attention. I'd definitely be concerned about ectopic ... let us know !

TheShellBeach · 24/10/2024 19:48

Are you all right @Pennyroses?

Pennyroses · 25/10/2024 17:25

Hi, thankyou for all the advice and concern. Sorry I haven't come back to update, AF arrived on Sunday evening finally. The cramps went away after that but I still have no idea why they were so painful, just glad it's over!! I really appreciate all the helpful advice and concern though 🤗 x
