So I know we are told precum contains sperm but does it actually? Does the withdrawal method work ?? I was told precum only contains sperm if the man has ejaculated recently. What's the actual truth? My partner and I used this method this month as I am unsure what I'm going to go on for contraception as I'm really not good with most Things I've tried 😫... any stories or expertise in this field ? Please no bashing I know that it's not a great method to use !

Yes it does. Google will tell you this. Maybe go for the implant if you worry about taking something reliably

The point is that you have no way of knowing.

what is wrong with condoms? Even if you have allergies, there are specialty condoms available.

No, it doesn't always. My husband and I have used the withdrawal method regularly for 25+ years and have only fallen pregnant ( first time trying each time) when we were actively trying to conceive. These were the only couple of times he didn't withdraw when I wasn't on some sort of contraception. Contraception doesn't suit us well though, so this method is the best for us.

That said you can only really know for sure by trying, and if you don't want to conceive then that's not a good idea.
Also you need to have a male partner who is completely in control of himself, and that isn't guaranteed.

Only use this method if you're absolutely fine with falling pregnant. More of a 'if it happens it happens' then a way of truly avoiding it.

Some men don't leak sperm into precum
and some do. Some men are great at timings, some aren't. It will work perfectly for some people for years and years, but you won't know if you'll be one of them until you've used it reliably for at least a year or so to be sure. And if you end up with a man who can't do it right - it's too late!!!

I would really recommend a copper coil. It's the only LARC that contains no hormones. In fact it's the only non hormonal non barrier contraception available, which is great for those of us who don't do well with hormones.

Thanks everyone . I kind of know it's risky but I just didn't know the actual facts of precum when the pull out method is used perfectly. What is the perfect use? I've fell down a rabbit hole now and have to find out 🤣
