Ovulation testing confusion HELP

Hiii everyone

I'm just so confused! First month I've done ovulation testing

So Saturday morning - Tuesday morning I got flashing smiley (which means high fertility)
Then Tuesday afternoon I got my static smiley (LH surge, ovulation due in 12-36hrs)

However I did an easyathome ovulation test strip this morning (so 2 days after my static smiley on clear blue) and it's not even a solid colour?

Could I have already ovulated and that's why my strip test isn't solid? Or is the clear blue wrong and I'm not even in a surge yet?

Any advice would be so helpful, I'm new to thisSmile

Yep you probably already ovulated! The bold line would be there a similar time as your solid smiley as it's testing for the same hormone, LH, which is showing ovulation is likely in the next 24-36hrs. The peak is usually pretty quick - a line darker than the control line (showing a positive ovulation test) usually only shows for a few hours before it decreases again, it's a real spike!

That makes a lot more sense! Thank you. I didn't realise it worked like that Smile

Hi, the easy at home test you’ve taken is for FSH not LH which could be why it doesn’t look like it should!

However @moosey89 is also correct and if you got static smiley 2 days ago your LH has probably already gone down anyway!

OP- I never got on with urine OPK's, despite the fact I do ovulate. I used a reusable, saliva OPK. Personally, it was easier to read and SO much cheaper than the urine ones over the years.

Ooh what's FHS? What's the difference? I'm so lost with all of this haha

FSH* that should say

@beartie FSH is Follicle Stimulating Hormone, whereas ovulation tests measure LH which is lutenising hormone. I don’t know the ins and outs but I’ve had a quick google and it looks like FSH tests are for menopause testing. If the ‘ovulation test’ you used is the one in your picture it says FSH on it so I don’t think it’ll be the right one!

Yes thank you I had a Google last night. I feel so silly now haha! It's a good thing it was a dark positive line as that would have been a bad thing apparently Blush

Just to add, if you're doing the dip cheapie opks then mid afternoon urine is usually the best to use, not fmu. Good luck!
