Can maca root affect lutual phase?

I have started taking Naitre supplements since the beginning of this cycle as I have heard good things about the vitamins. After having a loss in may my ovulation wasn't happening until around cd21 instead of around cd14. Taking this supplement it Helped to bring ovulation forward to cd15. I am now 11dpo and been lightly bleeding since 9dpo. Not enough or need a panty liner but enough there to be light pink blood on wiping. My pregnancy tests are negative so I am now concerned that the vitamins have caused this bleeding as I have never had blood 6 days before AF is due.
The vitamins contain maca root which I have never taken before so I am wondering if the the maca root has caused a progesterone issue or something similar.
I am wondering if I should stop taking the supplements (which is expensive and I already have next month's supply) or take just for the first half of the cycle or continue to see if it is just a coincidence.

Maca is supposed to be good for fertility but I don't know exactly what it's supposed to do (all references on Google just seem to refer to 'balancing hormones') and for me it just ended up delaying my ovulation and didn't improve my short luteal phase or spotting so I stopped taking it. Sorry, that's not very helpful!

Hi! How did you get on with these supplements in the end? I’ve been looking at them but was after some real reviews

Mummysparrow · 17/02/2025 08:29

@BGxxx hi, I liked them but decided to stop them after a month because I was getting spotting from 9dpo. It could have just been a coincidence as I also had spotting after my period which I discovered was due to a c section defect, but the random spotting from 9dpo stopped after I stopped taking them. I am now on wild nutrition

I’m really worried about messing up my cycle further! I’ll have a look at wild, I have been taking a few vitamins separately but not sure if it’d be easier to take a combined one

@BGxxx I personally have found taking it together easier as I have tried doing them separately as well. I also rate Ovum but I changed to wild as I got a 50% off on subscriptions. I am currently on a break from TTC for a few months following on from surgery on my uterus so my lack of conceiving isn't due to the vitamins
