Hi all, I'm very confused about what's going on this month so thought I would see if anyone has any advice or experiences.

On Tuesday, which was 6dpo, I had some very light spotting with a bit of cramping. I do have a short luteal phase but not that short! I continued spotting the next couple of days but I have been doing Proov progesterone tests through that time and they came back as high. I figured that the spotting couldn't be caused by low progesterone in that case and thought it could be implantation bleeding.

On Friday (9dpo) the bleeding got heavier and there were clots, which is very unusual for me at the start of a period. Today I woke up to a large amount of fresh red blood, much heavier than I normally bleed.

I had a negative pregnancy test at 9dpo which is the day the bleeding got heavier.

Does this sound like a chemical? This is so completely different to how and when my period normally arrives and I'm feeling so frustrated.

For background, I'm 36 and have been ttc since January. No positive tests in that time.

Update, I've now had a faint positive pregnancy test but still bleeding fairly heavily. Starting to panic now.

Hello

Just sending love your way. Did you decide to contact the GP or anything?

Thank you. I got a second positive test yesterday evening and the bleeding seems to be easing off so I'm crossing my fingers that it's just heavy implantation bleeding. I'm going to test again tomorrow morning and probably ring the GP either way when I see what the lines are doing.

I would definitely call, implantation bleeding is normally very light (I had it at 8/9dpo and it was pinkish brownish and only when I wiped). It certainly could be but probably good to check as it’s heavier?

I would call OP. I had implantation bleeding with DD but it was very light (as in only when I wiped), was brown and no clots. Definitely worth checking. Best of luck x

Just wanted to update this for anyone that ends up in a similar situation. The bleeding completely stopped by Wednesday and the gp said not to worry about the bleeding if my tests are still positive, although I'm to ring them back if I start bleeding again. Lines are getting darker and had a positive digital this morning. This might be actually happening!
