Abdominal scan with tilted uterus

Hey 👋🏼
Currently 8 weeks pregnant on third baby (4th pregnancy). Lost a baby in April gone at 8.5 weeks and found out in that pregnancy that I have a tilted uterus which was never mentioned before in previous two pregnancies.

Soo my question is.. if I book a private scan for 9.5 weeks would I be likely to see anything? The place we go to only does abdominal not internal.. I’d love to be able to wait until the hospital scan at 13 weeks but nerves/anxiety are getting the better of me 😭

any similar experiences?? Or scan pictures would be a bonus 🤞🏼

If the ultrasound you wanted was necessary, then it would have been offered to you. Checking another ultrasound won't change the outcome of this pregnancy. Chances are that everything will go well, try to relax, you're pregnant, unlike a lot of women on this forum who will be crying tonight that they're not. Take heart

I don’t think the post above is entirely necessary. OP is posting in conception not infertility.

I have a tilted uterus (and the added complication of having a lot of fat on my tummy). I think they should be able to see fine at 9.5 weeks.

I kind of agree with above.

I'm sorry about your miscarriage, I've had several myself with no live births.

I know it's never wracking but you have two beautiful children to focus on. I would just wait and see since nothing will change the outcome.

I'm sorry for your loss. I too have a retroverted uterus. You do realise that its normal- just not as common to the uterus tilting another way. Similar to saying some people have naturally blonde hair and some brown hair- some are just more common than others! During pregnancy the uterus often flips to the other side, and once the baby grows, it makes little difference at all.
By 9.5 weeks, an abdominal scan should still show things very well. Bare in mind that scanners have different strengths and the baby is still tiny at that stage, but you should certainly see a heartbeat though. Wishing you the best of luck x

I have a retroverted uterus too, and I had an early scan at 8 weeks. It didn't affect the scan and we could see everything.
Get the scan if you feel it would be reassuring.

Hey Op 👋🏼 I am so sorry for your loss 🙏🏼 I don't think that nervousness ever truly passes when you've had losses 😔 (Unfortunately speaking from experience too)

I also have a tilted uterus and found some scan photos turned out better than others! Like previous comments have mentioned I think it depends on the machine quality etc... With our DS we went for a couple of early private scans both were performed abdominally.... I will attached a photo below, I believe I was around the 9 week mark here ✨ keep in mind that this was 6 years ago!

We laughed and said he looked like a little gummy bear with his hands by his head 🤣

Sending you lots of hugs and well wishes! Congratulations on your little rainbow 🌈💕

Thanks for the reply girls I really appreciate it. @SunshineAndRainbows6 thank you for sharing your picture you’ve no idea how at ease it puts me! Iv gone and booked the scan.. I think I just needed to know that I would be able to see if there was a heartbeat or not and not be coming out worse off with extra anxiety 🙈
I know how lucky I am to be pregnant and that I have two children but that doesn’t change the worry I feel for this pregnancy so I am very sorry it my post has offended some people 🥹
