Hi. I posted here before about worrying about being able to have a child at 34 and received some lovely responses from some lovely kind people.

I come to you with a different concern now - I thought I was coming on my period but I actually haven't come on yet and think I may be late. I'm on day 30 of my cycle and usually I come on between 27 and 30 days but this month has been weird. I know I'm technically still on my last day but I'm not feeling any signs at all that it will happen today, I'm completely symptomless other than some tiny amounts of brown spotting.

I've been spotting since last Saturday on and off - very light, mainly light brown with a little bit of pink in there (I saw some that looked a little like bright red but in retrospect I don't think it was. It definitely wasn't my regular period blood) and have no signs that I usually have that I'm going to come on. What the heck is going on?

I did a test just now that has come back negative, I'm just really confused about what's going on. I've had a couple of sweaty nights like I usually get but no breast tenderness or any cramping really at all other than what I experienced last weekend which felt like my usual period cramps but were about 1 week early and way past my ovulation as far as I know.

Anyone have any insights? I'm actually wondering if I need to go to the doctors now because this month has just been weird.

Sounds like you ovulated later than you normally would

Thank you! This has never happened to me before, is it common? I’ve always been dead on time regardless of what’s going on. Just want to know what’s happening or if I’m actually going to come on.

I’d say it’s pretty common, your body isn’t a machine after all. Happens to me often, I have long cycles too. Have you been stressed? That can impact things

do use opks or temp? Temping is the only real way to know if ovulation has occurred?

That’s reassuring, thank you :) I suppose I have. I was a bit upset on Saturday because I was disappointed I wasn’t pregnant this month (as I thought I was coming on my period) and my husband has had a lot going on this past month. Just very unlike me to be so delayed, even when I’ve struggled with really traumatic things I’ve still been right on time previously.

I don’t! I’m fairly new to TTC and am trying not to add any additional stress on by monitoring things just yet. I usually have some discharge and pain when I ovulate which is why I believed I always knew - but now I’m thinking I may be wrong on that! I suppose I should really try and address my stress levels - they could be having more of an impact than I initially thought.
