My feretin currently sits @ 31

Nhs fertility consultant wants it at , at least 100

I have ibs

My medical records state my body doesnt absorb iron from tablets ...

Im on metformin due to pcos

Im considering getting a private iron iv
When period arrives...

I guess stories of concieving and staying pregnant with low feretin are rare ?

I can’t say about conceiving with it because I never got mine measured before. I’m guessing it was ok because I didn’t start feeling extreme tiredness until 5 weeks. I’m mostly adding this for the ‘staying pregnant’ comment. However by 9 weeks into pregnancy when the midwife took my blood my ferritin was 13 and I had to take the tablets for quite a while. So it at least didn’t impact the pregnancy.

Im pregnant again now and I have about the same extreme tiredness this time. I see the midwife on Thursday.

Good luck. Is there anything else that can help you absorb the tablets? Taking something alongside.

Fertility consultant wrote a letter saying my feretin needs to be well over 15

They marked 31 feretin ok - without viewing that

I have ibs.
Ive had 3 colonoscopies - have a bowel that grows benign polyps....

I have iron deficiency anemia - heavy periods

My medical records state my body wont absorb iron from tablets

Im on metformin for pcos
Which doesn't help my bowels
