Weight loss injections when TTC

Hi,

We are TTC #2. Im 37 and had a recent ectopic which resulted in one tube being removed.

But my main 'issue' is my weight. My BMI is 36 and I'm obviously aware this will affect my fertility. I'm on a strict diet and gym 3 X a week but the weight is very slowly shifting.

Im feel pressure with my age/ reduced fertility.
I'm really tempted by weight loss injections to get quicker results.

Has anyone taken weight loss injections to help them TTC?

I haven’t, but I am interested also. I am 39 BMI 32 and recently had a chemical pregnancy and a MMC at 9+2. I am under Tommys now and I just know they will say it’s my weight. I want to start the injections as friends have had great results but not sure whilst TTC x

If this hasn’t been tested don’t risk it.

Mounjaro and Pregnancy: What to Know
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a powerful tool when it comes to managing type 2 diabetes and losing weight. But it’s not advised to take this medication if you’re pregnant, trying to have a baby, or breastfeeding. We need more research that proves that it won’t harm your baby.

@beetr00

Thanks, I had seen online it says to stop 2 months before getting pregnant.

I'm wondering if anyone has sucessfully lost weight with WLI and then conceived shortly after.

I have PCOS and had GD before, so I wonder if these drugs could genuinely be really helpful for me. If I wasn't TTC I would try it 100%

Sorry to hear of your losses 💐

I know that carrying extra weight messes with your hormones and can make it really hard to get/ stay pregnant. I'm really trying to lose weight but it's happening quite slowly. I have PCOS so that doesn't help.

I wonder if it's worth stopping TTC for 3-6 months and trying to get my bmi down with WLI. Then trying again. I don't want to waste time TTC if my weight is going to make it near impossible

No way I'd risk that, there's no evidence of the medium to long term risks anyway, let alone how it could affect a growing foetus. Either find other, safer ways to lose weight, or have a break from TTC whilst you use the injections.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.

Iv seen before about 'ozempic babies' and wondered if anyone had an experience of pregnancy during or after taking WLI
