Help!

I have been ttc #2 for six months now, and am 38 so conscious of time. Post mc have had awful and irregular periods - flooding, lasting almost two weeks etc. GP basically said they can’t do anything about periods whilst ttc, but has prescribed me norethisterone to delay period over a big work trip next week (5 hour flight, public presentation, really would be a nightmare on period). I think period is due next week so would have to start taking it now - but it’s too early to take a pregnancy test.

Can I take it if there’s a chance (have not been using contraception) I might be pregnant? GP seemed to think this is fine but everything I’ve read says risk of birth defects!

You need to discuss this with a doctor, Not online strangers with no medical training whatsoever :)

I was taking norethisterone at the time that we conceived our daughter (as part of a fertility protocol). GP, fertility consultant, specialist team were not concerned about the impacts on fetus BUT our daughter has a cleft palate which may potentially be associated and we /her care team reported it to yellowcard scheme
