Hi ladies didn't know where to post this so taking a chance on this thread but hopefully some of you may be able to shed some light on this situation.. well I got a static smiley face on a clear blue digital ovulation stick on the 1st of September this month(with no flashing smileys before hand) and just out of curiosity, I have just took a clear blue digital ovulation test stick just now and got a flashing smiley face? I'm on cycle day 26, 2 days before AF is supposed to be due? What is going on? Anyone had this, could I be ovulating again or could this be picking up a pregnancy? Absolutely don't have a clue whats going on 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t think you’re meant to do those tests again that cycle after getting the static smiley, can you check the instructions?

You're not meant to use it after it's shown a positive static smiley face, so it doesn't really mean anything I'm afraid!

@Triangleflower @moosey89 thanks ladies 😊

It means you have elevated oestrogen. That could be a good sign at this point in your cycle tbh (if they are like clockwork).

@sirensong a sign of what hun? And yes my cycles are usually anywhere between 26&28days but I have flo app so been logging my periods for months since I'd given birth to my daughter so I know when to atleast expect them 😊

If you're trying to get pregnant it's potentially a good sign to have high oestrogen at this point, because in a non-concepton cycle it usually has already started to dip ahead of menstruation. However everyone is different to a degree and the reading would depend on the clearblue holder having an accurate baseline record of your normal unelevated level. Plus your ovulation not having been delayed, because the reader could otherwise be picking up the mid luteal second oestrogen surge.

@sirensong no! We definitely aren't trying to get pregnant at all! (Using withdrawal method & avoiding dtd around the time I ovulate) 1st September when I got my static was on cycle day 16 of my cycle if that is useful to you? Also took a pregnancy test lastnight and it looked pretty negative 😊 so wondering if I'm ovulating again maybe? 🤷🏻‍♀️ if not their must be something wrong with me 🤦🏻‍♀️

If you've tested negative two days before your period then you're probably in the clear. You might need to track every single day if you're only using withdrawal. Definitely not 100% effective!

You can just get slight peaks in hormones sometimes, it's not an exact science. There's likely nothing wrong with you x
