Implantation bleeding or period

2-3 weeks ago DH and I began to have sex. We started without a condom (got carried away) then he urgently pulled out after "feeling something" and wiping off pre-ejaculation. We continued after with a condom.

I was due my period around 3rd Sept and on 4th I began to bleed very lightly. I put a pad in and woke up to it being very soaked (full on period I assumed) and I filled a pad the following day. After that there had been barely anything - a completely dry pad, then the next day a very light bleed - bright red in colour. There was a teeny tiny clot, the size of a small pea.

I took a test yesterday morning, which was negative but then, after looking it up further, I see that it's best to wait a few days after implantation bleeding (if that what it was) has stopped.

I'm a little confused and anxious as my periods are usually like clockwork and this has never happened. I also got random back ache a few nights ago but it could be due to my terrible pillow which needs changing.

I will test again in a few days but I'm doing the unhelpful thing of wondering and wondering and Googling and Googling.

If it was very soaked then a period. My implantation was literally one wipe of the brown gunky stuff you can get at the start of a period, about 4 days before I was due, which made me think it was coming, then nothing at all.

@Sanch1 Thank you for replying. I am leaning more towards it just being a period but it's strange that it barely lasted 2days besides spotting. My regular periods are 5 days.

I suppose only time will tell.

If you filled a pad it's a period. Implantation bleeding if you were to get it (a lot of women don't get it) is more like light bleeding/pink discharge on wiping it wouldn't be enough to fill a pad

My implantation bleeding was exactly the same as @Sanch1 - even sent DH to buy an emergency box of tampons.
