I am 5DPO today. First proper cycle of trying to conceive.

I know we’re not likely to feel any symptoms yet, but id anyone else hyper focused on every twinge or movement? I swear I woke up in the night with really sore b0.obs but now they don’t feel too bad - last night they were super veiny and looked diff.
I’m presuming this is just post-ovulation symptoms.

I don’t want to overthink and get myself stressed but so hoping something is going on. I hope i’ll know more in a few days.. and I know how rare/lucky it is to catch first time.

Just wanted to open up a thread for us all waiting! :) xx

Took my digital today. Good luck to you ladies xx

Such good news. Many congratulations x

Ladies - as a first cycler… what should I expect at 8dpo? I feel like I should have some form of temp or ride in lh? I have neither :( xx

You should certainly see a rise in temp. Are you absolutely sure you have ovulated? You would normally see a dip from BBT inoculation then a big rise the next day as progesterone kicks in x

Carportforme · 08/09/2024 18:00

I’m with you re the symptoms. I had symptoms this month that I don’t usually get in the TWW but all over for me now I think. Cramping started and massive temp drop today! :(

Weirdly, my temp went up this morning despite it being CD1 and my boobs are still sore. But I think my sleep is so erratic that my temps aren’t accurate and I don’t trust the Apple Watch temps much.

I had a ridiculous amount of cramping around 8DPO and ever since which I was so sure of being implantation, I’m wondering if an egg was fertilised but wasn’t able to implant properly.

fingers crossed that your temp drop doesn’t mean AF x

I didn’t track it hugely.. last month I was sure I was BFP so know my usual temp is around 36.6 ish. It was that this morn. I haven’t been kind to the old mind today and tested a few times as i’m so desperate for this to be it… felt some twinges and had a horrible tummy so just in limbo for another few days!!! Xx

Just been the loo and had a bit of pink when wiping. AF is due in 2 days so could be that

@JW24M Sorry, just to add my response from earlier was assuming- since you said you were 8dpo - that you'd had an initial post ovulation temp rise and you were querying whether you should see a secondary rise.

As @Carportforme said, you always get a sustained rise of at least 0.3 centigrade after ovulation. If you don't see that rise, the chances are you haven't ovulated yet.

Thank you - so new to this i’ll be better next cycle, promise 🤣🤣 xx

@JW24M with temping you soon get into the rhythm of it. The main thing to remember is to do it before you get up or do anything else.

I have to confess I haven't actually temped in a couple of years as I then found that as long as I caught the OPK peak I was able to predict the end of my cycle pretty accurately, but back when I was TTC DD1 I found temping really reassuring to confirm the OPK result sooner....

I think after this cycle passes i’m going to get my bbt regularly. The conception threads have helped me learn a-lot! Thanks for your insight :) x

Was this with a BBT thermometer? It can take a while to learn your normal patterns but any of the apps make it a lot easier, I've used Natural Cycles for years but there are free versions too

Nope - funnily enough I learnt LAST NIGHT I need to get a specific one and not just the one we use when we are ill 🤦🏼‍♀️ i’m learning so much this month!!! I’m using premom currently for LH xx

I know, there's so much! Even all the acronyms on here!

curliegirlie · 09/09/2024 08:12

Use Fertility Friend for recording BBT. It's soooo much better than PreMom for that as I've said downthread.

You need a BBT thermometer with 2dp reading and to take your temperature first thing in the morning as you wake up, ideally without sitting up. Good luck!

SaltedPotato · 09/09/2024 09:04

7dpo and BFN today. No surprise but this is when I start testing

KT199 · 09/09/2024 12:11

How’s everyone doing? Coming to the end of my TWW now, 12 DPO and AF due tomorrow. Did a test late last night 11 DPO and was negative so just waiting now and if AF doesn’t show up by Wednesday evening will take another test then, but assuming I’m out this cycle now. Good luck to the rest of you ladies in your TWW hoping you get your BFP ✨ for anyone who doesn’t, I’ll see you all on the next thread 🙂 our time will come soon!

HopefulSS · 09/09/2024 13:28

Hi ladies I've been a busy bee and not overly on here for a few days. I am 9dpo today, BFN with diluted urine at 10.45 this morning. I have woken up with an unexpected runny nose and cold symptoms. I had a good sleep and I feel quite tired and my boobs are starting to get quite sore. I don't normally get sore boobs before AF especially this soon before but I feel like my body is playing tricks on me because surely I would have tested positive if these were pregnancy symptoms?

JW24M · 09/09/2024 15:26

I feel you! Mine are achey when touched/moved and feel heavy, not really like a constant sore. Unsure if this is just me thinking its a symptom when its not. I’m 9dpo toooo! Xx

@KT199 there is still hope so crossing fingers for you xxx

@JW24M I don't know I just have a feeling this isn't my month which is making me sad lol. Been so emotional today! I'm going to test every morning now until Saturday to try to move on from the month slowly lol. Rather than AF turning up on holiday making me feel horrible! Xx

Claireyyy · 09/09/2024 17:04

First time posting, eek! TTC now for 5 months, 6dpo had visible pink on tissue when wiping and thought yes this is implantation! Back ache, stuffy nose and stomach cramps over the next few days. Then 11dpo I started bleeding lightly and this lasted 2 days. I’m now 13dpo and nothing today, has anyone ever had both? Last took a test at 10dpo and haven’t since, just seems strange to be “bleeding/spotting” twice. I’ve been off the pill for 6 months now and my periods have always been like clock work x

@JW24M have you ever done the SMEP method? I am thinking I may try it next cycle. I'm trying to tell myself it's a good thing I'm not pregnant this month lol as I have a weeks worth of outings end of Sept and I'd have to hide it! I'd still rather that problem though 😔 xx

I told my partner last night that if this month isn’t successful it’s every other next month so he needs to prepare 🤣🤣 I have to be honest though, this is our very first cycle trying and am so aware it can take healthy couples a year! Just want it to happen so bad! I’ve been ready for years whereas my partner has not Xxx

OP posts:
HopefulSS · 09/09/2024 17:52

@JW24M yep I am with you on this too! I have been ready for years, so had my other half but we've only been together 18 months but because of our ages we wanted to start trying and not wait. Must admit we are extremely happy together. It's so hard when you want something so bad to just "not think about it" or "not stress about it" or "relax" like people say that to me and I'm like erm is that even possible? This is our first month of trying too so I really need to stop worrying but because my ex had a vvvvv low sperm count years ago, it scarred me a bit as we tried for a year or so and it was tough on me. So I struggle to forget that trauma. I think il just dtd as much as possible over ovulation and hope for the best xx
