I am 5DPO today. First proper cycle of trying to conceive.

I know we’re not likely to feel any symptoms yet, but id anyone else hyper focused on every twinge or movement? I swear I woke up in the night with really sore b0.obs but now they don’t feel too bad - last night they were super veiny and looked diff.
I’m presuming this is just post-ovulation symptoms.

I don’t want to overthink and get myself stressed but so hoping something is going on. I hope i’ll know more in a few days.. and I know how rare/lucky it is to catch first time.

Just wanted to open up a thread for us all waiting! :) xx

@curliegirlie I could have written this myself. AF is here, just as the apps predicted. I was never regular before! I was only on cycle 2 but I’m drained already.

curliegirlie · 08/11/2024 12:45

@Clara202 it's loopy and frustrating. My cycles were seriously out of whack when TTC DD1, and even after I started on levothyroxine they were still a little bit varied, same for the 12 months TTC DD2 (anything between 26 and 31 days). Whereas now my body has finally set in a nice ov on CD15/16 groove for the most part - meaning I can mostly skip the OPKs with confidence. And still nothing. For 35 fucking cycles. And this was our effort this month - see attached chart. I mean I dunno, it seems to make no difference whether I target the days up to ov, just end up with a last ditch shag on ov or ov-2 to avoid a complete write off, DTD every day for a week, miss fertile week entirely...no. Fucking. Difference. Same outcome.

And yes, I know I should probably cut down on alcohol and caffeine, but I suspect that would also make so little difference either. DD1 was conceived the week after we'd had a boozy weekend in Budapest, enjoying saunas.

I'm 42. I just need to suck it up and accept that this isn't happening. But whenever it comes to when I should be thinking about clearing out the loft of old clothes and toys etc I just freeze. Like it will break me 💔

Two week wait ladies, you there?
Clara202 · 08/11/2024 14:58

@curliegirlie how old is your DD?
Have you had any checks etc? 35 cycles sounds exhausting. I’m 38 and no kids yet, I just hope I get a shot at it, but I know it’s just as hard to want to give your daughter a sibling x

curliegirlie · 08/11/2024 17:18

No, I absolutely apologise. It must sound so greedy when I already have two daughters. But since my MC (of a surprise pregnancy) I just haven't been able to shake it. I wish you so much luck. I am very much on the extreme end of the scale. I've been in a couple of MN and WhatsApp group where I'm the last woman standing. I have every hope you'll get there.

My DDs are 9 and 6 now. I haven't done any tests - no point, as we're not going privately. Last time I had tests done before DD1 I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (which has been controlled ever since) and an internal scan suggested PCO (but not the syndrome 🤷‍♀️), and DH had a low sperm count - but we went on to have the 2 girls naturally. I have to say, I never dreamt I'd still be here after trying for twice as long as the two girls put together, particularly as the MC followed just a couple of weeks lax mini pill taking...

Clara202 · 08/11/2024 20:24

It’s ironic isn’t it? It always seems to happen when it’s not expected. Would/Have you considered IVF? If the desire for a third child is there and you’ve been trying for a while, might be worth shooting your shot. Apologies if you’ve already referenced this somewhere else in the thread!

Hows everyone getting on? CD6 for me, with fertile week starting at the back end of next week (roughly). Trying to keep busy and my mind off the TTC but it seems to be easier said than done 🤣

so so sorry for late reply - for some reason didn’t get notification for you posting!!

In the fertile week now… cm has been weirdly more sticker than usual slippy stuff - unsure whether it might appear later this week but we’ll see.. due to cycle irregularities this month may be a bit all over the shop & next month might be in more of a flow. DTD as much as we can. Funeral coming up may scupper any plans with stress but trying to remain positive! Improved diet massively & water intake. Will just have to wait and see!
How you feeling? xx

Have you managed to not test? I hope the funeral goes as well as it can! Take care of yourself and your OH.

I’m doing okay, quite anxious tonight as my ultrasound got brought forward due to staffing so it’s tomorrow. No idea how I’m going to fill my day tomorrow as it’s not until 3pm, need to keep myself busy if possible. Just worried something is gonna crop up and really upset me 😔.

Oh bless your heart - sending you loads of love. If you feel comfortable to pop back & tell us how it went. I have faith that all will be OK & it’s just taking its sweet time.

I haven’t tested once so far, until 1 LH test this afternoon, and I only did it because I knew my urine would be strong after a super long meeting so thought hmm lets see. It was fairly high but not positive but i’m not doing another now! Just going to wait and keep tracking CM. I’ve deffo felt less stressed and more myself by not lh testing every day with BBT. . xx

Well I'm out again 🙄 period turned up this morning 3 days early. Although I should've known it was coming, when I cried yesterday, seeing a motorhome towing a small car. I mean Wtf 😂 I'm now awaiting to see the gynaecologist to find out if I have endometriosis as well now

@JW24M Thank you. It's as if my body is torturing me. Last month when I knew there no chance at all, my period was a week late. This month and September it's come earlier than it should've done. I think the worse thing other than not being pregnant is the crippling nausea I've had. I mean do feel nauseous at certain points in my cycle but this time it's made me dry heave constantly. I was talking to a lady yesterday who I was looking after and she asked me if I had children (hate the question) so I just said no but I would like to have one. Then she asked me how old I was so I told her nearly 40 she thought I was still in my twenties and was like eeeee lass you'd best get cracking if you do want one. What i didn't tell her was it took 15 years in the first place for me fall Pregnant followed by 5 losses xx

KT199 · 14/11/2024 20:33

So my scan was today, and it’s not clear if I’m ovulating as my follicles were much smaller than expected for where I am in my cycle. (I’m CD10 and the biggest was 8.5mm and should be well over 10-15 by now). Been recommended to LH test this cycle and book a re-scan for after the positive test so they can actually check ive ovulated. He said if I’d have had a baseline early on (CD1-3) they could tell if they have grown. Dr Google says it’s a classic PCOS symptom.

Nothing else looked array, which is a positive but I can’t get my mind off of the issue with my follicles.

If I’m being honest I’m completely beside myself, I’ve spent the full night so upset and can’t stop thinking that if I’m not ovulating then can I ever have children. I need to try be more positive but I just can’t get these thoughts out my head 😥

this place drives me wild! Only just got a notification to say you’d posted - so so sorry I haven’t messaged sooner.

I bet this feels so heavy. We can only hope that next time you go the follicles are bigger. It’s so natural to think the absolute worst - we do it to protect ourselves.. let it out, soak up love from your partner & remember we’re here if you need us. Big hugs xx

It really makes me sad that people still ask that and we’re in 2024.. i’m sorry she was a little insensitive.

My cycles were completely messed up but so far this month i’m following my usual pattern which is a positive. I hope your cycles regulate a bit more - the nausea must be so ruddy annoying.

sending love xx

Yes it’s really scary and I’m really struggling with it. My OH has been so supportive bless him.

Think I’m going to take a week or so off of this forum and try get back to a positive mental state. I am planning to go back after a positive LH test and then I will know for sure where I stand. It least if I know I can ask the GP for a (hopefully) early referral to see if anything can be done.

Good luck with this cycle and I may be back soon results dependant! Xx

Hey! How are you getting on this cycle @JW24M

my scan was 7 days ago and I have only just got a surge today CD17 (3/4 days later than I’ve ever had a surge before) so hoping what the sonographer saw last week was just potentially delayed ovulation? Other months I’ve already ovulated by CD17 so feeling a little more positive, that when I book to go back in a few days maybe he can confirm I am actually ovulating after all. Trust my body to play up on the cycle I went for my ultrasound 😒

So lovely to hear from you! I’ve been thinking of ya!! Ahh bless you!
Honestly after my cycles the last few months I feel anything can happen. Hoping for some positive news for you now! Take it easy.

I’m 5dpo. Back ache, slight pully sensation and sore boobs but thos can happen for me anyway this time of cycle so not testing until 10dpo at the earliest. Not long now!! I feel positive regardless this month that faced with bereavement we did all we could.. may get my Christmas/ NY wish instead of this month but we’ll see Xxx

I also spoke with my GP today which has reassured me a little more, she said with a regular cycle it’s highly unlikely I don’t ovulate and that I can have a blood test on Monday to confirm my progesterone levels (which would be high if I’ve ovulated) as that is CD21 for me. So fingers crossed, definitely feel like my worries have subsided!

Ah, not too long off testing then! Yes, and it will happen for you soon I’m sure! Some people journeys take a little longer than others and that’s fine ❤️ I hope the funeral went as well as it could!! Xx

ahhh there you are - that re-assurance is worth it’s weight in gold! Hopefully the results come back quickly too.

thank you - typically I ovulated that day but hoping all the BD around that week did something! No real signs of implantation or anything yet :( got back ache and a cold but so has most people in work currently! So still just a waiting game… giving it 4 more days until I test! xx

It certainly is! And today is rescan day 🙈 I’m SO nervous, like can already feel myself almost shaking. But hoping for positive news this afternoon 🤞

Ahhh, don’t worry some people don’t feel or notice a thing and still get that BFP!!! Have to let me know how you get on testing!! Got my fingers crossed for you 🥰

Ok so I lasted a night before testing 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ couldn't help myself! 9dpo today, did a cheapie yest (8dpo) and nothing. Today, i’ve done 4!!! As i’m convinced I see a line. Even the clear blue (which I always swear due to indents not to buy but had some in the drawer) seems to have something to the eye but photographed its hard. Had such a bad cold for a few days but so has OH so dont think its related but boobs still sore. I dont know. Might do a cheapie each day and then Tuesday do a FRER.

so top is 8 dpo LH, then 8 dpo test, then 9dpo 8am tear FMU, second and third at 9/11am, the clear blue 12.30…. I am trying to not get my hopes up as i’ve had something like this before but equally trying to do all I can now to keep everything crossed!! Xx
