Two week wait ladies, you there?

I am 5DPO today. First proper cycle of trying to conceive.

I know we’re not likely to feel any symptoms yet, but id anyone else hyper focused on every twinge or movement? I swear I woke up in the night with really sore b0.obs but now they don’t feel too bad - last night they were super veiny and looked diff.
I’m presuming this is just post-ovulation symptoms.

I don’t want to overthink and get myself stressed but so hoping something is going on. I hope i’ll know more in a few days.. and I know how rare/lucky it is to catch first time.

Oh wow, is that a second surge? I did read the CM is an important indicator for ovulation but the CM might be high up enough that you can't see/feel it easily. I've had something similar where yesterday evening I saw EWCM and felt a sharp pain on the left side I think was ovulation. But was a dry as a desert the days before and thought I'd ovulated already having seen EWCM on Mon and had some cramps. I have a heaviness in my lower abdomen now which I normally get before my period but not due for another 2 weeks. So I now have no idea what's going on. Guess I too had a second surge. I've never paid so much attention to my cycle, other than just tracking my period, so no idea what is normal for me.

I have NO Idea at this point! I did a cheapie when i did a second lh dip this aft… my lh is down from this morn, however a v v v faint line showed up on my hcg… it startled me as I was not expecting it.. its more visible in person but I don’t know…. 🤷🏼‍♀️ took them in different lights (pls excuse the state of my windowsill during renos haha). It came up within 2 mins and stayed, however I am not naïve to it.. maybe an indent! I have barely any cm today either. Had a weird dream about implantation last night but thats probly cause its on my brain 38191038 times a day haha xx

I can see a line in that first photo. Looks like it has some colour in it too which I don't think you'd get with indents/evaps? You should test tomorrow again with FMU. Maybe you did ovulate after AF like you thought OR AF was actually implantation or something?

Ohhh I can defo see a little line, but have seen a lot of people stung with indents and evaps so don’t want to get your hopes up as it’s a little early for HCG to be present if you are only 6DPO, as implantation typically would be earliest 6DPO then a few days needed for HCG to rise to a level which is detectable. Do you have any other brands of tests you could use? If not, try again tomorrow with FMU and it should be there again or darker!

Haha! I feel like we’re twinnies in that respect because if i’m honest with myself .. i’ll end up doing a cheapie tomorrow as my will power is non-existent 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

It’s a weird one isn’t it. Usually if an indent I don’t see it as the dye moves but I had to keep checking this one! The weird thing with my AF is that I had crazy hip pain before it which is a new symptom, and it was nowhere near as heavy, but I did have clots which is not usually a sign of implantation. It just felt like half as tense as usual. I even said to my OH about how it was kinder to me this time! Xx

Couldn't wait! Wish I did. Negative FRER and must have a dodgy batch of premoms as another test last eve and one this morn and a faint line showing on both. Feeling v disheartened this morn and really meh :( xx maybe I just need to learn patience but two days of lower bbt is not looking great :( xx

I’ve seen a few people using the easyathomes getting indents/evaps recently too, so don’t think your alone ☹️. I know other brands give them too sometimes tbf so it’s really hard to know which tests to use.

All you can do is keep testing or wait another few days and see what happens.

Your BBT isn’t below the cover line though. But do keep an eye on the trend, as if it increases tomorrow quite a lot it could be ovulation with the downward trend and previous LH rise!

I completely agree!! It is so hard being so disappointed when it doesn’t happen. I feel quite naive in a way as going into this I really didn’t realise the complexity and the struggle that comes with it. I also hoped we’d be really lucky, stars would align all that kinda stuff and we’d fall on, on the first month.. each month that passes I feel more and more disappointed. And being month 3, it’s still so “early” in the 12 month timeline, but for me that doesn’t make it easier.. each month that passes I worry further 🫣.

I am right there with you - it isn’t happening as quickly as I thought and i’m so worried i’ll be years into it and we won’t have the same chance for a second should we be so lucky. I am hopeful for us both - right back at you if you ever need a chat! xx

Oh that is frustrating! I guess you're not out till AF arrives but maybe best to hold off testing for a few days to give your HCG time to show up, if it's there. I don't know how many DPO I am since not sure which was the right ovulation day (I think I'm 2DPO) so treated myself to a glass of wine last night. And felt like I'd drunk the bottle, have good tolerance normally so that was odd. I'm planning to test next Sat unless I have any symptoms before then. So far I have nothing!

Testing early is such an easy thing to do, but you’re so right! I need to wait! 😂😂.

TBH, I wouldn't have called it @JW24M testing early if it was to ascertain whether that last period was real in the light of those random OPKs...but now it looks like it was (if it wasn't those would have been blazing dark BFPs) it's back to sitting on hands for another few days and reminding yourself that you'd never get anything sensible before 10 or 11dpo. 🤞 and good luck!

But also try to rein yourself in in these early months. Not getting a BFP in the first 6 months or whatever isn't a sign that anything's wrong (and I think the only reason they say over 35's should see a doctor at 6 months is to get the ball rolling sooner when fertility could be on the decline).

@curliegirlie Thank you for the advice/help, I know it wasn’t directed at me but useful to read as I have found myself disappointed and worried too, only 3 cycles in. I feel added pressure this cycle too as the “average” online is suggested at 3 months, which in reality I reckon probably is not true. So I’m desperately trying not to get too upset if it is another negative this month and AF arrives.

Yes, its really odd and something for me to keep in mind in the future. I'm off to see a private consultant this week so hoping for answers soon.

@KT199 Yes it's definitely an interesting one and something I will need to keep in mind in future attempts. I am thinking that I may end up on steroids in my next pregnancy (long story) and I dont know whether, if I do need them, I will need to take them from ovulation or BFP so I dont want to be stoping and starting every month for months on end simply because I am missing ovulation.

I'd be hugely surprised if up to 3 months is the average. I'd imagine 6 months-ish is closer to the mark, but it's oft quoted that up to a year is all normal (and the vast majority of couples will have their BFPs by then). In my case DD1 was 16 months/10 cycles (some rather loopy), DD2 was 12 (normal length!) cycles and this time round is about 34 and counting (since March 2022 when I had a surprise pregnancy and miscarriage). One of my best friends took forever (several years plus IVF) for DC1 but then 2nd month for DC2, and another friend conceived hers on months 2 and 3, so it not only varies from woman to woman, but between different TTC attempts too. But if you told me I'd still be here over 2.5 years down the line...🤯

I'm 1dpo and this time we've managed to cover the entire fertile window plus +1 so in theory I should be really optimistic but in practice, well, if it's not worked up to now why should this cycle be any different 🤪. FF tells me that in total, including DDs1 and 2, I've spent 55 cycles TTC. That's bloody nuts!

I think it’s great advice too. I’m so new to all of this I’m definitely still learning and trying to absorb without being too overwhelmed!
