Late period negative test

Hi. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for two years with no success. We’ve both been checked out and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to conceive naturally. I’m 39 and have fairly light periods, dr told me not to worry about that and that I have a good egg count.

I started talking bud female formula a week ago. My period was due on Sunday and still hasn’t arrived. Sorry for tmi but the only blood I’ve had was a small amount in my husband after sex. All I’ve had is dark bloody discharge and a negative test this morning. I’m so disheartened and frustrated.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment OP, I'm 41 and currently pregnant with my second child. It's taken a long time to get here this time, whereas first baby I was 36/37 and fell pregnant in 2 cycles.

Are your cycles regular? Mine went haywire at 40. They had been like clockwork pretty much all my adult life up until that point then suddenly I was having super long cycles (average 40-45 days), ovulating later, skipping periods entirely. It's like someone flipped a switch and I suddenly hit perimenopause.

Anyway, it's a positive tale as I did eventually fall pregnant naturally without medical intervention. Had a scan yesterday and so far so good, I'm almost 11 weeks. I ovulated late though so dates completely different to LMP, I didn't get a BFP until day 54 of my cycle.
