hi eleveld, last month i had this done and my progesterone level was 33. my gynae said she likes to see a number between 30 and 40 to be sure that ov has occured and more importantly, that the lining of the uterus is thick enough to sustain implantation.

have you got your results yet?

how are you doing?

Had my test on Monday but it got lost between hospitals (don't ask!) - only just found the results but they won't give me the number over the phone so have to wait for them to reach my consultant, then him write to me - hopefully I'll hear SOMETIME next week!

I'm not hopeful as didn't get a positive OPK all month - got a couple of days where there was a line but no-one near as dark as the control line.

If the blood test result is low I'm hoping my consultant will suggest something (maybe Clomid do you think?) as I didn't ovulate last month either - or do you have to have not ovulated for quite a few months before they'll prescribe something like that?

They say 30 but I had one done that was early 20s (I think) and the consultant still said that in his opinion I probably ovulated that month, I probably just had the blood test at the wrong time.

The blood test has to be done 7DPO to be accurate. I expect if you are not ov'ing two months in a row you will be referred to someone who may well prescribe Clomid. I was given Clomid after one blood test showing I didn't ov (my level was 6 I think or maybe 8..) It made me ov but unfortunately I didn't get pg. There are plenty of Clomid success stories though, including a good friend of mine who's due in a few weeks

Your consultant should be able to prescribe Clomid - ignore what I said about being referred, my blood tests were done by my GP who then referred us.

thanks Nomore

Yes am already under a gynae for endo so he knows my history.

Last month my progesterone was only 8 so if it's low again this month I'm really hoping he prescribes something, as I'm knocking on a bit! (39 in few months)
