Tracking your cycle with no / irregular periods

Hi all, looking for some advice. I stopped taking Cerelle (mini pill) approx 4 weeks ago. Me and my husband have been having unprotected sex ever since (approx 2-3 times a week).

My period has not yet returned. I have had various symptoms which I thought were early pregnancy symptoms but have had a string of negative tests over the past week so I think it was just my hormones adjusting to being off the pill!

I am a huge worrier and I am concerned that there is something wrong! I just want my period to return so that I can begin to track my cycle and know that everything is ‘working’ as it should.

How long should I leave it before I see a doctor? Google recommends 3 months but then contradicts itself by saying that with the mini pill, you should revert to being able to conceive straight away (within 24 hours) depending on when you ovulate and your cycle should revert to normal.

Is there anyway (other than ovulation sticks) that I can track my cycle without a period?

You can potentially ovulate and therefore potentially get pregnant immediately after stopping pretty much any contraceptive. You can ovulate before you've had a first period after stopping your contraception or giving birth.

Plenty of people get pregnant after only a missed pill!

But everyone is different - for some people, it can take 3 months (or occasionally longer) for their hormones to regulate after stopping contraception. And periods can take a while to settle. If you're concerned, you can speak to your GP, but they may tell you to wait for a couple of months and see.

Unfortunately there is no way to know if you'll be the lucky person for whom it cones back quickly.

@MMMJan91 i was where you were last year after being on the mini pill for years. I kept googling why my period hadn’t returned. Then bang on 6 weeks later it came back. The pill just really throws your hormones off. I am sure you will be fine & your period will return before you know it
