OPKs Advice

Hi, I'd appreciate some advice with regards to OPKs.
So far I've been doing them in the morning day 8-15
From reading forums some people suggest doing them morning and night?
When a peak is observed does that mean I've probably ovulated already?

I've never actually tracked with OPKs but from what I've read here, yes it seems a lot of people do it twice a day until they get to know what their peak is like. Apparently some people can have a really quick peak and if they're just testing every 24 hours, they can miss it. So doing it twice a day would be more likely to catch it. My understanding is when you see your peak (test like as dark as or darker than control line) you're going to ovulate within the next 12-24 hours. I go by my cm and know that I'm fertile when I have ewcm so just make sure we have a lot of sex from then. It's the 2 days preceding and the day of ovulation that you have the best chance so it's good to get started and not wait for your peak. Although I'm sure its particularly useful for women with more irregular cycles if you don't know exactly when you're ovulating each month. Good luck! Xx

I agree with this.

I can easily miss my peak if I happen to test at the wrong time of day - and you won't peak at the same time each day. I can test up to 3-4 times a day close to my peak. Our peak can also be overnight when you are sleeping!

But in theory your best results should be in the morning and around lunch time, as that is when LH levels are thought to be highest during the day. So if you can only test once in a day, aim for mid morning!

The peak can be 12-24h (sometimes more) before ovulation and it's bit possible to kniw for sure IF you ovulated or when, without BBT or CM tracking.

The best days to have sex are in the 2-3 days before your LH peak, including the day if the peak. Ovulation day us still a fertile day, and the egg can live fir 12-24h so even the day after O day is counted as fertile - but the odds are lower on those days.
