I haven’t done a test yet but for past 2-3 days I’ve been feeling INCREDIBLY irritable, sensitive, etc.

This is very unlike me. I usually have one day a bit like this a couple of days before ovulation (although TBH more sad sensitive than irritable sensitive) but that’s all.

I’m currently on the verge of tears and want to shout at my poor mum who has really done nothing wrong.

All very weird for me - could this be an early sign of pregnancy? Did anyone else have symptoms like this before a positive test?

You will unlikely get a positive test so soon. If a test can't pick up HCG in your urine then your body isn't producing enough of the hormones to get pregnancy symptoms. It's usually mind over matter this early on. If you are TTC then your body can play tricks on you if you are trying to symptom spot.

I haven’t done a test or anything, I was going to wait and see if my period was late. I just wondered if anyone had similar symptoms before a test was taken, because I really don’t feel like myself.

I’ve tried to calm my irritability with a large gin & tonic 😬 in fairness, it’s working!

Do a test op. If it's negative, your symptoms aren't pregnancy related.

Hi there!
Unfortunately, this is not a sign of pregnancy, but it doesn't mean that you're not pregnant! Your plan to wait until the date of your period to test whether it's still there seems very wise to me. Trying to have a baby can be very hard psychologically, and sometimes you can feel overwhelmed. As it's a period when you can't help interpreting everything, it's even more difficult... I hope this cycle will be the right one for you!

Irritability is a symptom of impending menstruation. People can be different but my mood in my conception cycle was uncharacteristically good because there was no hormone crash like usual.

Mood before ovulation is supposed to be the best anyone ever feels so if you usually feel sad at this point maybe you have atypical mood reactions to hormones.

It could be, but it could also be symptoms leading up to AF. Your body produces progesterone after ovulation whether you're pregnant or not which is why the symptoms are all so similar. I've had slightly different symptoms in the lead up to AF for every month I've been TTC now and I've started to try and just ignore them (way easier said than done), it's too easy to pick up on all sorts of things that you wouldn't have thought twice about before TTC.

You're doing the right thing to wait until a missed period, once you start testing it's hard to stop! Fingers are crossed it's the outcome you want!
