Positive or evaporation line?

Hi everyone.
my wife took a pregnancy test this morning (31 days after last period), and she says it was negative, so she threw it out, i decided to check it out myself and saw a line by positive, she threw it away after 2 mins, can this be a positive, or is it an evaporation line?
many thanks.

You are not supposed to read it after a certain amount of time so I think it would be invalid. Test again tomorrow morning. Read the instructions for the test though on the length to wait.

What type of test? How long is the time you can read the result in? 2 minutes seems short, but the chances of you reading it within the time - usually 5 minutes in my experience - is low.

I'd retest tomorrow morning, with first morning urine, and then time the waiting period advised by the specific tests she's using.

Evaporation lines are very faint. If it is an obvious line, then I would say it's most likely positive. But obviously as the above posters have said, safest to just do another test. Could you post a photo of it?
