Should we do reviews on HPT's and OV kits?

if only to stop people panicking about the accuracy of different tests, whether a line is always a line and how many dpo the tests showed a clear bfp?

it could save us all a fortune!

Yes lissie, it is a very good idea! I would support it and add my two penn'orth anyhow.

OracleInaCoracle · 15/04/2008 15:29

ooh good. how would we work it?
we could add old wives tales and methods too

hmm, not sure about the practicalities. Maybe peeonastick website would give us some ideas? Do we need a list of categories/brands and then ppl could add comments in a cut and paste way like when lists are updated? Or is that completely unworkable?

beaniesteve · 15/04/2008 15:34

It could be a good idea, though sometimes I do get the impression that if it's not giving a BFP then there must be something wrong with the test. Clearly a test will give you a BFN if you aren't pregnant!

Maybe if there is going to be one then it should be for False Positives only?

beaniesteve · 15/04/2008 15:35

ie I mean people think there must be something wrong with it.

The only way to do this rally would be to get already pregnant women to pee on a stick.

roquefortlover · 15/04/2008 15:45

Yes, false postives a good idea. What about, though, where ppl get false negatives and then go on to get a late positive? Be good to see if there are brands that are more likely to give negatives (when you are pg but not very too). I think I am not making sense!

beaniesteve · 15/04/2008 15:46

there's a good reason why they might get a negative though - testing too early, not enough hormones.

OracleInaCoracle · 15/04/2008 16:48

ok, so all tests should take place at 14dpo, could include ease of use, clarity and accuracy

Yes Lissie that might do it! could also help to dissuade people from early testing...becasue I do agree with you bs about the good reasons for a negative. I suppose what I meant was to make clear that, for example, a Tesco own barnd won't give a true result until 14dpo whereas an FR might do it earlier (not saying this is true btw just an example)

OracleInaCoracle · 15/04/2008 17:19

we could also include how prone they are to evap lines!
