This is a long one. I've had a lot of fertility tests done after a twin loss at birth 9 months ago. Everything has come back clear except one which is progesterone test after ovulation.

Weirdly the ultrasound scan has shown a corpus luteum which shows i ovulated. However same day as this scan, I got my progesterone tested yesterday 5 days after I ovulated. I ovulated day 18 and I've a 30/31 day cycle roughly.

The progesterone test however came back 25, they want to see 30. I'm being repeat tested tomorrow again which will be 7 days post ovulation. I feel so stressed and upset. This has been a horrible journey since the death of our baby sons and I just want things to go back to normal so we can give them a sibling and continue our lives.

If my test comes back low again, is this fixable? I'm so stressed.

I wouldn’t worry at this stage. The test should have been done 7dpo, not 5. At 5dpo, your levels are still expected to be rising.

I’m so sorry about the loss of your baby at birth. 🌷

Oh that is very sad, I am really sorry to hear that. I now remember your thread from last year - I have thought about you since then - I really hope you are able to conceive soon. 25 at 5dpo is a good sign that it'll continue to rise and be above 30 by day 7. Will you come back to update us?

A consultant gynaecologist recently told me the 30 level is arbitrary. If yours is 25 you have ovulated and it was likely higher at some point afterwards.

That's really good to know. I'll be 7dpo tomorrow and I'm being tested again tomorrow

Hi. Just came across your post while looking for progesterone level help. Just wanted to say, I also lost a child and I am trying again to get pregnant. It's so emotional and difficult. My progesterone just came back at 25. Have you had any luck yet?
