Could I be pregnant?

Hi, I hope you don't mind me posting as I'm not currently TTC but I think I could possibly be pregnant and could use so guidance. I'm currently on the pill and take three pack of my pill and then have a break (so 9 weeks of tablets, 1 week break, 9 weeks of tablets and so on, as told to by my doctor). I have IBS and have had a flare up for the last month / month and a half. I recently read that having an upset stomach can effect how effective the pill is (if its not absorbed properly before passing it). For over a week I've had nausea (dry heaving but no sick), a couple of times I've had a small amount of blood in my discharge, some cramping, sleeping more (one night I slept 12 hours 😬) and my moods have been a bit more up and down than usual.

I took a pregnancy test with my first urine of the day yesterday which was negative but I'm not sure if I'm testing too early or too late (I read about the hook effect) as I don't have a period as a marker to know when to test.
If I've got symptoms, should a pregnancy test be positive?
I've contacted my doctor to investigate further because even if not pregnancy, I'd like to get to the bottom of why I'm feeling so nauseous but they have given me a phone appointment in 2 weeks time. Just looking for some guidance from people who know more about this then me as I can't speak to a doctor for a while. I hope you all don't mind me asking as I completely understand my situation is different from all of yours. I wish you all the best, thanks in advance 😊

Unless you’re less than 2 weeks ish from conception then you’d have a positive pregnancy test yes. My baby is 4 months old now but I took another pregnancy test when I was 5ish months just to see what the line was like and then actually took another one the day before she was born and every single test was absolutely positive, so you wouldn’t be “too far” for a positive test, I was 9 months and still got one x

I tested around 11 weeks and was a very strong line, so I don’t think you could be testing ‘too late’. But yes, if you are getting actual pregnancy symptoms, you’d expect a test to be positive. When you see GP they can do a HCG test to confirm or rule out pregnancy
