I’m on my 5th cycle of trying for #1 and I’m just so disheartened. My first cycle I unfortunately had an ectopic, and it’s just been BFN ever since. I know it’s quite normal to take a year or more to conceive, and many have been trying for much longer, but after having a positive in the first cycle it’s just so hard. I believe I’m 12dpo today and had a BFN - could theoretically still be in with a chance, but don’t feel hopeful this month. I guess I’m just looking for anything that may have worked for those who got their BFP. Absolutely anything, even if it could have just been purely coincidence, I’m prepared to try anything 🤣

Hello @Ksh5460

I don’t have any tips or tricks that I know work as I’m currently in a very similar position to you, TTC baby no1. I feel you! It’s a hard journey to go on.

Me and my partner have been taking prenatal supplements, we started this 3 months prior to TTC. We have limited caffeine, no alcohol, and avoided hot baths/hot tubs (no idea if this actually helps). Both eating healthier and doing daily moderate/ light exercise.

Tracked my ovulation via easy @ home strips and clear blue digital tracker to find my LH surge. I have kept these strips and results of ovulation strips in a tracker/journal to see how my cycle differs month to month (I started tracking my ovulation 3 months prior to TTC). Ive always tested in the am and pm. I had picked up my LH surge this month during the evening. I would’ve missed this if I hadn’t tested in the pm. So maybe that’s worth a try?

Me and my partner have been baby dancing everyday at the time of ovulation, 3/4 days leading up-to ovulation and 1/2 days after. I know there is some suggestion that keeping your legs elevated helps but idk 🤷‍♀️.

I’ve also tried to relax this month, get enough sleep, limit stress and tried to not symptom spot as obsessively as I did on my last cycle. I found testing too early was causing me more stress, I’m going to wait until my AF is due this month.

I’ve made contact with other women in the same boat and I’ve found great comfort in this support network.

I hope some of this helps. Always here to chat and share experiences. Sending all the baby dust to you! I hope it’s your month soon ❤️

Try before you suspect you are due to ovulate , rather than waiting for ovulation.

Thanks both @Mairzydotes @MeggggsssTTC I’m doing all of these already - this cycle I didn’t get to pinpoint ovulation as I was on holiday and doing the tests was harder to find the time, but was using CM as a guide too. As my cycle varies from 29-32 days we basically just DTD every 2 days not long after my period ends. I’ve heard of people using the Mucinex method so may try this for my next cycle, as well as a fertility cup. Don’t think I’m particularly stressed, but thinking of trying acupuncture and upping my self care just to make sure lol. I have a bit of a time limit as I’m getting married next year, so will be pausing TTC at the end of this year if I’m not successful, resuming summer next year or later.. and I guess I have this on my mind 😬

It's quite common I think to take longer to conceive after any length pregnancy. It took us longer after having had a miscarriage. Your hormones can take time to settle. I never tested before my period was late - the best way not to see a negative test. I never lay down afterwards as prone to UTIs! Anecdotally, people on MN seem to have success with ferti lily cups, acupuncture, and the SMEP. Apart from usual health things, I really think it's down to chance. It's encouraging you got pregnant once.
