Hello everyone!

My name is Laura, and i'm new to mum's net!

I'm 36 years old and me and my husband of 10 months have decided to start TTC for our first baby!

Been talking to a lot of my co workers and such about planning ahead, and i was a little anxious about 'taking the leap' as i've been calling it, to finally start the process.

did anyone else feel like this was a big decision, or did you all just get on with it because you knew deep down its what you wanted? <3

its what we both want, and now i'm 36 and dealt with some anxiety disorders, i will regret it forever if we don't settle down and have a baby :)

Anyway, i'm 5 days away from ovulation, and i'm really excited rather than nervous about taking this big, life changing step.

plus my MIL is from the Philippines, they are BIG on family there - no pressure for me, right? :P

Pleasure to meet you all once again,

Laura

Hi Laura! Nice to meet you. I was just like you in thinking it through carefully and making a big deal of it. I’d advise starting a preconception with enough folate (ideally in that form rather than folic acid) in it. Check the NHS recommendation online. I’m TTC Baby 2 now and honestly at nearly 35 I don’t think I’ve got time on my side to faff about like I did last time, constantly putting it off waiting for a better time. So go for it and try not to let it take over your life in the process which I really don’t think is conducive to being successful! Good luck! Keep us updated.
