TTC seems so easy at first- try being being so positive after a year!!!

My story- 27, 1 DD with previous partner, had coil out 15 months ago, been trying HARD for 9 of those months.

tried...........

acupunctiure
fertility spell (!)
legs in air

sex every day
sex every other day
saving up sex for day before
on zita west diet, vit E, EPO, starflower oil

hi, been ttc our second for 2.5y, in that time had 7 mc's and 1 ep! have you been to your gp?

THTC · 13/04/2008 10:39

Hi Lissie- it's ammy!!

Am waiting for day 21 at the mo.

Havent been on here in ages but feel so down just lately needed to talk to people in same boat.

DH went for SA few months ago- looked ok. Bad morphology made up for by high numbers!!

How are you doing? last time I saw you, you were giving up? I can imagine that hasnt been easy.

OracleInaCoracle · 13/04/2008 10:41

well, we gave up giving up. dh isnt ready and it has to be a joint decision. we have LWH tomorrrow followed by RSH (for the drugs) next monday, so next month i am starting on clomid, at last!

good news about dh's sperm test, have you put him on vits?

THTC · 13/04/2008 10:49

i think we have to give it our absolute best shot. i dont want to have regrets.

have you had a HSG?

THTC · 13/04/2008 10:57

No not yet. GP was so good TBH- took copies of DHs SA and said that he would refer us after day 21 test. No arguing, pleading, he was very nice.

dreading HSG- have you had one?

OP posts:
OracleInaCoracle · 13/04/2008 12:33

Hi girls. How long is "A long time"? can
I join you ladies? I've only been TTC for 8 months but I have been diagnosed with PCOS so I think I could be here a very long time. I'm only on my 4th cycle in 8 months. My last AF (on cd96) was induced with a course of Progesterone. I'd probably still be waiting now!

THTC I had an HSG a week ago. It was quite uncomfortable. You just feel your tubes filling up, it feels a lot like a strong AF pain. I was fine afterwards. It was intriguing to see your tubes on the x-ray screen though! I was amazed at how thin they are, they're thread like and apparantly no one has symmetrical tubes either. I expected it to look like the pics you see in text books but they are lop sided!
Also, the dye isnt blue, which is what I though hahahaha, it's white

fruitl0ops2muchchoc · 16/04/2008 14:37

bump

ClairePO · 16/04/2008 14:42

We've 'only' been trying 7 cycles so not massively long term like a lot of you here. All cycles been temping so we know we are having 'well timed intercourse'. Not sure what to do next really.

I am overweight so trying to lose as know it is a factor and think will help to have lost some weight by the time we get to the 'it's been a year now' doctor visit.

duchesse · 16/04/2008 14:42

Have been ttc number 4 for 4.5 years after having Mirena out (June 2003). One m/c since then at 13 weeks, and zippo zilch else. Am no longer in any way positive as am now 40.

soosy · 16/04/2008 15:14

ttc DC2 2.5 years. DS took seven years and 10 ivf attempts have had five attempts since with no joy, going for FET later this month. Have had Acupuncture (worked for DS, not at other times), Done Foresight, which is a really brutal version of Zita West, Reflexology, which didn't help, Hypnotherapy, which did. I think what works is not specific to each person, but the thing that makes you most relaxed.

herbaceous · 16/04/2008 15:23

Is this an additional moaning thread for 'TTCno1 for ever' types?

Me, 42 trying for number 1, started three years ago, have had four miscarriages in that time, three at beyond 10 weeks. The last one was a year ago, and nothing since. On final push before giving up and adopting. Next step HSG.

Tried temping and OV sticks (which work, but get me even more stressed out), "relaxing and it will happen", doing it lots, doing it not much, doing it with EWCM, doing it without.

I think Soosy might win 'shit time' award.

soosy · 17/04/2008 19:50

Sorry Herbaceous, not going for shit time award, I just think it is really tough to conceive for some people and I know people who have had as much intervention as we have and still haven't even conceived. I really think you should get yourself referred to St Mary's Paddington they have the best recurrent miscarriage dept. If you can afford to go private there do as the waiting list is out of sight. Good Luck
